All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public <br />health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed the life ring with throw rope were not in the pool area readily available. Ensure safety equipment is <br />always maintained readily visible and available for use. Corrected on Site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br />This is (Major) Violation. <br />MAJOR <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br />OBSERVATIONS: The swimming pool’s chlorine concentration was 0.5 ppm. Adjust chlorine concentration to 1 – 10 ppm for <br />pools without cyanuric acid treatment, or to 2 – 10 ppm for pools with cyanuric acid treatment. Close the pool until the <br />corrections are made and verified by this department. Maintenance worker adjusted the chlorine concentration to 4.5 ppm <br />during the inspection. Ensure the automatic feeder is dispensing chlorine to maintain the required chlorine levels. Corrected on <br />site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall <br />maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with <br />cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to <br />10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br />This is (Major) Violation. <br />MAJOR <br /> #12 pH Level <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pool’s water was observed at 8.0 pH. Adjust water pH to 7.2 - 7.8. Close the pool until the pH has been <br />adjusted and verified by this department. The pool’s pH was adjusted to 7.8 pH by maintenance worker during the inspection. <br />Corrected on site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8.
