Environmental Health Department <br />Telephone: (209) 451-7790 Owner/Operator: MEX TAMALES <br />Inspection Type: Routine <br />Address: 730 S CALIFORNIA ST, STOCKTON 95203 <br />Date: 10/22/2025Name of Facility:MEX TAMALES #4SR9844 <br />Reinspection on or after: <br />Mobile Food Facility Official Inspection Report <br />Program Element: 1635 - MOBILE FOOD PREPARATION UNIT (MFPU) <br />Items listed on this report as violations do not meet the requirements set forth in the California Health and Safety Code commencing with section 7; <br />113700. All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and have the potential to cause foodborne illness. All major violations must be corrected immediately. Non-compliance may warrant immediate <br />closure of the food facility. <br />VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> #1 Demonstration of Knowledge <br />OBSERVATIONS: A current food manager’s certificate was not available during the inspection . Provide a copy of a valid 5-year <br />food manager's certificate to lbaker@sjgov.org within two weeks. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: All food employees shall have adequate knowledge of and be trained in food safety as it relates to their <br />assigned duties. (113947) Food facilities that prepare, handle or serve non-prepackaged potentially hazardous food, shall have an <br />employee who has passed an approved food safety certification examination. (113947-113947.1) Any food handler hired after June 1, <br />2011 shall obtain a Food Handler Card within 30 days (113948). <br />This is (Minor - Food) Violation. <br /> #39 Thermometers Provided/Accurate/Easily Visible <br />OBSERVATIONS: A probe thermometer was lacking . Provide a probe thermometer within two weeks. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An accurate easily readable metal probe thermometer suitable for measuring temperature of food shall be <br />available to the food handler. A thermometer +/- 2 #F shall be provided for each hot and cold holding unit of potentially hazardous foods <br />and high temperature warewashing machines. (114157, 114159) <br />This is (Minor) Violation. <br /> #47 Signs Posted; Last Inspection Report Available <br />OBSERVATIONS: The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department SB - 180 sign was not posted at the facility for <br />public view. Maintain the SB -180 sign posted in public view at all times. Correct today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Handwashing signs shall be posted in each toilet room, directing attention to the need to thoroughly wash <br />hands after using the restroom (113953.5) (b) No smoking signs shall be posted in food preparation, food storage, warewashing, and <br />utensil storage areas (113978). (c) Consumers shall be notified that clean tableware is to be used when they return to self-service <br />areas such as salad bars and buffets.
