Monitoring Well Installation and Soil Vapor Investigation Work Plan <br /> BOULEVARD AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE <br /> 2151 Country Club Boulevard, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. John Parker of Boulevard Automotive Service (BAS), Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental,Inc(AGE)has prepared this work plan for the site located at 2151 Country Club <br /> Boulevard, Stockton, California (site). The work plan provides the scope of work and procedures <br /> for the proposed installation and development of thirteen ground water monitoring wells, and the <br /> collection and laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater samples;additionally,the scope of work <br /> includes an active soil vapor investigation. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1.A plan <br /> of the site is illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD)has directed by letter(dated <br /> 03 January 2007) that a work plan be prepared by 19 January 2007 to investigate the lateral and <br /> vertical extent of petroleum-impact and to evaluate hydrocarbon vapor intrusion at the site <br /> (Appendix A).This work plan has been prepared in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks <br /> (UST) sites. <br /> AGE has previously interpreted off-site data to identify six informal hydrogeologic flow units <br /> (hydrogeologic units 1-6)between surface grade and 100 feet below surface grade(bsg) as having <br /> significant intervals of apparently porous, coarser grained soil separated by significant intervals of <br /> finer-grained, less permeable soil. Generally,Hydrogeologic Unit 1 (HUI)was identified at depths <br /> between 8 feet bsg(depth to first encountered ground water)and 35 feet bsg,HU2 was identified at <br /> depths between 35 feet bsg and 50 feet bsg,HU3 was identified at depths between 50 feet bsg and <br /> 70 feet bsg, HU4 was identified at depths between 70 feet and 84 feet bsg, HU5 was identified at <br /> depth s between 84 and 96 feet and HU6was identified at depths between 96 feet bsg and 100 feet <br /> bsg(Cone Penetrometer Testing Site Investigation- Yd Quarter 2006, dated 10 November 2006). <br /> 2.0. SCOPE OF IVORK <br /> On 29 December 2006, AGE met with the SJCEHD to discuss the status of the Boulevard <br /> Automotive Service investigation;following the meeting,it was decided that additional investigation <br /> was warranted in AGE's informal hydrogeologic unit 2 (between 35 and 50 feet) and in <br /> hydrogeologic unit 4(between 70 and 84 feet)from seven(7)additional locations.Generally,off-site <br /> dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons contamination extends from the site to the location of boring P 11, <br /> located on Franklyn Avenue.The contamination is not currently defined or monitored by repeatable <br /> sampling location in the lower hydrogeologic units. In accordance with the 29 December meeting <br /> directives, AGE is therefore proposing installation of thirteen additional ground water monitoring <br /> wells (MW-12 through MW-24); each well will be single-completed either through hydrogeologic <br /> units HU2 or HU4 to define and monitoring dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
