1.05 RESPONSIBILITY AND CARE OF EQUIPMENT <br /> A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the equipment included in this Contract <br /> until it has been finally inspected, tested and accepted in accordance with the <br /> requiremerts of these Specifications. <br /> B. The Contractor shall make his own provisions for properly storing and protecting <br /> all materia and equipment against theft, injury or damage from any and all <br /> causes. Damaged material and equipment shall not be used in the work. <br /> 1.06 FACTORY TESTS <br /> Factory tests shall be performed for each piece of equipment where specifically called for in the <br /> Section specifying that equipment. Note that factory tests are inherent in many reference <br /> standards. The requirement for a factory test in a referenced standard shall make that <br /> requirement a part of these Specifications. Conduct factory tests at the same speeds at which <br /> the equipment will operate in the field, except as noted. <br /> Where specifically noted, performance tests may be witnessed by the Engineer. The Contractor <br /> shall inform the Engineer in sufficient time to allow arrangements to be made for witness of such <br /> tests. When non-witnessed tests are performed, certified results shall be supplied by the <br /> Contractor. <br /> Factory testing of pumps shall be done in accordance with the requirements and Standards of <br /> the Hydraulic Institute except where otherwise noted. Tests of other equipment shall conform to <br /> the requirements set forth in these Specifications. <br /> 1.07 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> No measurement will be made. Full compensation for conforming to these requirements, <br /> including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and for doing all the work <br /> involved in this section necessary for completion of the work, as shown on the Contract Plans, <br /> as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions and as directed by the <br /> Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> PART 2— PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 DESIGN <br /> A. General: <br /> All equipment shall be designed for the service intended, shall be of rugged <br /> construction, of ample strength for all stresses which may occur during fabrication, <br /> transportation, erection and during continuous or intermittent operation, shall be <br /> adequately stayed, braced and anchored, and shall be installed in a neat and <br /> workmanlike mariner. Appearance and safety, as well as utility, shall be given <br /> consideration in the design of details.
