Deliver bolts with templates or setting Drawings and verify that bolts are correctly <br /> located before structural concrete is placed. <br /> D. Base and Bedplate Grouting: <br /> Do not place grout until initial fitting and alignment of connected piping is completed. <br /> Level and align equipment on the concrete foundations, then entirely fill the space <br /> under base or bedplates with grout. Bevel exposed grout at 45 degree angle, except <br /> round exposed grout at horizontal surfaces for drainage. Trowel or point exposed grout <br /> to a smooth, dense finish and damp cure with burlap for three days. When grout is fully <br /> hardened, remove jacking screws and tighten nuts on anchor bolts. Check the <br /> installation for alignment and level, and perform approved corrective work as required to <br /> conform to the tolerances given in the applicable Instruction Manual. - <br /> The Contractor shall make an allowance of at least 1 '/2 -inches for grout under the <br /> equipment bases, whether or not shown on the Drawings. Shims used to level and adjust - <br /> the bases shall be steel. Shims may be left embedded in the grout, in which case they <br /> shall be installed neatly and so as to be as inconspicuous as possible in the completed <br /> work. Unless otherwise approved, all grout shall be an approved non-shrink, non-metallic _ <br /> grout. <br /> The grout shall be dimensionally stable, inorganic, premixed and resistant to acids, <br /> alkalies, salt water, and shall be unaffected by water and oil. It shall have high strength <br /> even when used as a pourable mixture, and shall bond well with steel and cured concrete <br /> or be compatible with a suitable bonding agent which shall then be used to effect the <br /> bond. It shall be used in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. It <br /> shall be Five Star Grout as manufactured by U. S. Grout Corporation; Bonsai <br /> Construction Grout as manufactured by Bonsai Co.; or equal. It shall be submitted to and <br /> favorably reviewed by the Engineer prior to use. <br /> Where practicable, the grout shall be placed through the grout holes in the equipment <br /> base and worked outward and under the edges of the base and across the rough top of _ <br /> the concrete foundation to a peripheral form so constructed as to provide a suitable <br /> chamfer around the top edge of the finished foundation. <br /> SECTION 11050 - EQUIPMENT MOUNTING <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.01 DESCRIPTION <br /> This section includes mounts, supports, and the anchorage for equipment, piping, and <br /> accessories. <br /> 1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> Support, anchorage, and mounting of all piping, and equipment shall be provided by the <br /> Contractor according to manufacturer's recommendations, California Building Code, and - <br /> industry standards requirements unless otherwise specified.
