1. Hose: McMaster Carr General Duty Flat Roll PVC Discharge Hose, Part No. <br /> 5295K41, or equal. <br /> 2.08 PIPING CONNECTIONS — MISCELLANEOUS <br /> A. Metallic Flexible Couplings and Flange Adapters <br /> Where shown on the Drawings or required by installation, flexible couplings and flange <br /> adapters shall be furnished and installed by the Contractor. All couplings shall be <br /> suitable for a minimum working pressure of 150 psi. <br /> Flexible couplings for steel pipe and steel pipe sizes shall be Rockwell (Smith-Blair) <br /> Type 411, Romac Style 400, or equal with the stop removed from the middle ring unless <br /> otherwise shown. Flexible couplings for cast or ductile iron pipe and equivalent sizes <br /> shall be Rockwell (Smith-Blair) Series 411, Dresser Style 38, or equal. Flexible reducing <br /> couplings shall be Rockwell Type 415, Romac Style RC400, or equal. Sleeves shall be --- <br /> 10 inches minimum length and have a fusion bonded coating suitable for potable water. <br /> All coupling gaskets shall be synthetic rubber suitable for potable water. <br /> Bolts and nuts for exposed flanges and fittings shall be carbon steel hex bolts, as <br /> specified in AWWA C115 and C606. Bolts and nuts for buried flanges, tie rods, and <br /> fittings shall be stainless steel. <br /> B. Dielectric Isolation <br /> All metallic piping shall be dielectrically isolated from all other metal piping, hangers, <br /> brackets, steel reinforcing and all other metal structures. All piping shall be dielectrically <br /> isolated from piping or other materials constructed from dissimilar metals. Flange dielectric <br /> insulation sets shall contain full faced gaskets, full length sleeves, and double insulating -- <br /> washers as specified in Section 13100. <br /> C. Wall Penetrations <br /> All penetrations through reinforced concrete walls shall be constructed to prevent metal to <br /> metal contact between the pipe and reinforcing steel in the wall. _ <br /> D. Insulating Unions <br /> Insulating unions shall meet Federal Specifications WW-U-532, Class 1 requirements for -- <br /> dimensional, strength, and pressure requirements. Insulation barrier shall limit galvanic <br /> current to 1% of the short circuit current in a corresponding metallic joint. The insulating <br /> material shall be impervious to water. Each connector shall match the type of material to <br /> which it connects. <br /> E. Cam and Groove Coupling. <br /> Cam and groove couplings shall be furnished and installed where indicated on the <br /> Drawings. Cam and groove couplings shall be quick disconnect type with lever action to <br /> seat the gasket in the female coupling on the male coupling. Cam and groove couplings <br /> shall conform to ASTM F1122. Cam and groove be constructed of Type 304 stainless <br /> Division III-155 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468,7589,7590 <br />
