Dear San Joaquin County,
RE: Transmission Gas Pipeline Maintenance
To comply with DOT49-CFR192 (3) and NACE RPO 05002-2002 SECTION 5.10,
PG&E is planning some pipeline maintenance work in the early part of 2008. This
work is being performed as part of a mandated pipeline integrity program, which
has been established by the Department of Transportation to validate that the lines
are in good condition. The scope of the work will involve the use of a backhoe to
excavate one 12'x10' bell hole. We will expose the pipeline, remove the coating,
sandblast the pipe, and check for any damage or corrosion on the pipe. We will
then recoat the pipe and backfill the hole. The time span involved from start to
finish should be approximately three days. The contractor performing the work on
behalf of PG&E, will be Mears Group, Inc. Mears contact is Dwight Clay. His
number is (847)736-2020.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns as a result of
receiving this notification. I can be reached Monday thru Friday, from 7:30am to
4:00pm.
Thank you
Sincerely,
D
Ryan Moore
Pacific Gas & Electric
Gas Engineering Estimator
Estimating Department
Gas Transmission & Distribution
925-974-4330
