CY
ATC Associates Inc.
1117 Lone Palm Avenue, Suite B
Modesto, California 95351
209-579-2221
Fax:209-579-2222
ASS O C I ATE S I N C .
May 11, 2010
Traffic Control Plan
Periodic Monitoring Well Sampling
Sidewalk Right-of-Way
2701 N. Wilson Way
Stockton, California
The purpose of this Traffic Control Plan is to provide guidelines to protect ATC Associates Inc.
(ATC) employees and contractors during the sampling of the existing monitoring wells in Wilson
Way and on Sanguinetti Lane associated with the U-Haul Service Center located at 2701 North
Wilson Way, Stockton, California. (Figure 1).
The sampling of the existing monitoring wells is part of a state-mandated groundwater
degradation investigation and remediation project that resulted from a gasoline release from an
underground storage tank system from the U-Haul Service Center located at 2701 North Wilson
Way, Stockton, California. This project is being overseen by the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. ATC will be conducting this work.
A schematic of the traffic control plan is shown on the attached figure (Figure 2). North Wilson
Way is located in a commercial district and has a speed limit of 45 miles per hour in this
location. Sanguinetti Lane is located in a commercial district and has a speed limit of 35 miles
per hour in this location.
The Wilson Way Work Zone is defined as the area extending southwest of the intersection N.
Wilson Way and Sanguinetti Lane along the southeast side of the northeast bound lanes of
Wilson Way in front of 2662 North Wilson Way.
The Sanguinetti Lane Work Zone is defined as the area southeast of the intersection North
Wilson Way and Sanguinetti Lane along the east side of the southeast bound lanes of
Sanguinetti Lane in front of 2820 Sanguinetti Lane.
Traffic Plan
Proper PPE will be worn during traffic operations, which includes a highly visible traffic-rated
safety vest, a hard hat and steel-toed boots. An unoccupied work vehicle will be placed in the
traffic lane between the work zone and oncoming traffic. In the Wilson Way Work Zone, the
truck will be positioned in the eastern most part of the northbound lane of North Wilson Way. In
the Sanguinetti Work Zone, the truck will be positioned in the in the eastern most part of the
northbound lane of Sanguinetti Lane.
The vehicle will be positioned with some room between the rear of the vehicle and the work
zone. The work vehicle will be positioned facing oncoming traffic, with its headlights on (day or
night), parking brake engaged and wheels turned so that if it was struck, it will turn away from
the worksite. The truck will also be outfitted with an amber flashing warning beacon atop its
cab. The positioned vehicle will function as a visible warning sign, but should an oncoming car
fail to yield; the vehicle also will absorb the first impact of a crash and will shield occupants of
the worksite.
Traffic Control Plan 1 ATC Associates Inc.
Periodic Monitoring Well Sampling
2701 N.
