Scott Cooper
From: Joe Murphy Umurphy@dillonandmurphy.com]
Sent: Friday, April 16, 2010 1:12 PM
To: Scott Cooper
Cc: Alex Chetley; Brook Handel
Subject: Van Dyke encroachment permit
Hi Scott,
This is a brief history of the Encroachment Permit I have applied for in Lockeford. The permit is requesting to widen a
County owned dirt road that they use to maintain a storm basin.
The road also is used as an access to my client's property. My client, Fred Van Dyke, built his house without having
approval from the Fire Department. Since his house is located more than 150 feet from a County maintained road, his
driveway has to be built to Fire Department standards. Mr. Van Dyke has sprinklers in his home so the required width of
the road is 16'. The road currently is less than 16' and that is the reason for the Encroachment Permit request. Also, my
client would need to install a three way lock that Public Works, Fire and he have the ability to open.
He is currently living in his home but he cannot get his building permit finalized until he addresses the Fire Department
issues.
If you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks you.
Joe Murphy
Dillon & Murphy
209-334-6613
209-334-0723 (Fax)
i
