X
09 November 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0236
Mr. Mike Infurna
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Subject: Revision to Work Plan Addendum, dated 29 December 2008
BOULEVARD AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE
2151 Country Club Boulevard, Stockton, California
Dcar Mr. Infurna:
On behalf of Mr. Roger Hartley of Country Club Blvd. LLC, .Adiwnced GcoEnvironmental, Inc.
(AGE) has prepared this revision to Work flan Addendum, dated 29 December 2008. The scope of
work included the advancement of four(4) off-site Geoprobe soil borings (P-17 through P-20) to
depths of approximately 50 feet below surface grade (bsg) and collection of grab water samples.
AGI; had informally identified sandy hydrogeologic units at depths between 35 and 50 feet bsg as
I-lydrogeologic Unit 2, and at depths between 70 and 85 feet bsg as Hydrogeologic Unit 4. The
location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2. Laboratory
analysis of previous grab water samples and ground water monitoring well samples are summarized
in Tables 1 and 2, respectively.
Based on letters dated 23 March 2009 and 08 October 2009 (Appendix A), the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EFID) stated that off-site ground water was not adequately
assessed at depths greater than 50 feet bsg, and further directed that ground water samples be
collected from proposed borings P-17 through P-20 at depths oleapproximately 75-80 feet bsg(i.e.
Hydrogcologic Unit 4). Therefore, in accordance with the above EHD directive, AGE is proposing
to revise the total depth;of borings P-17 through P-20 to depths of approximately 75 feet bsg. Grab
water samples will be collected at each boring location from Hydrogeologic Units 2 and 4.
Additionally, because of the prevailing northwest gradient observed from the site's wells screened
within Hydrogeologic Unit 2, AGE is proposing to advance one additional boringlocationP-21
further down gradient to ensure the lateral definition of the deeper dissolved plume. Soil boring P-21
is located approximately 125 feet west-southwest of boring P-20(see Figure 2).Grab water samples
would be collected at P-21 from Hydrogeologic Units 2 and 4.
AGE had previously proposed utilizing a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit
