Thornton Rd.
Lodi, CA
Dear Mr. Cooper,
Please accept this letter in response to your request for a brief description of the project we wish to do at the
above location.
The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) has funded a program to instrument truck stops along the
I5 corridor to enable truck drivers to view parking availability prior to arriving at a designated truck stop. A
similar project is being conducted on the east coast along the I95 corridor.
CalTrans has received the funding from the USDOT for this project and has asked the team at California
Center for Innovative Transportation (CCTT) to manage this project. CASE Systems, Inc. was the selected
company to deploy the field systems to determine the occupancy of the truck stops and the resulting space
availability.
As it relates to the Encroachment Permit, our solution is to install standard inductive street loops per the
attached set of drawings. The intent is to have an indefinite time line on the use of the loops.
Please let me know if you are in need of any further information.
Regards,
John Couvrette
Vice President
CASE Systems, Inc.
1
