GENERAL NOTES: <br />1- 0.25' HMA Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal <br />thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) placed on existing <br />or prepared roadway, unless noted otherwise. <br />2. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair <br />has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving <br />has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must <br />remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing <br />the final layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or <br />drifted onto the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement <br />exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or <br />more fully compacted layers. <br />7. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration <br />Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work <br />must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to <br />the intersection conform. <br />2' <br />0.5'— <br />TE <br />8% <br />8. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing <br />of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to <br />the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing <br />will be paid by the Contractor. <br />9. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench <br />marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all <br />expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or <br />disturbance. <br />10. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have <br />each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals.
