TRAFFIC SAFETY PLAN
DESTRUCTION (REMOVAL) OF WELLS
Road/Shoulder work on Country Club Blvd. and Mission Road
Using an equipment truck and drill rig wells MW6B, MW7A, MW711 and MW9B will be
tremie pressure grouted with neat cement from bottom to surface. MW6A and MW9A will be
drilled out with 8 inch augers, removing all well construction materials. The borings will then
be tremie pressure grouted with neat cement from bottom to surface. All fluids reaching the
surface will be collected and placed into 55 gallon drums for later disposal. All solids
generated from well destructions will be place on plastic liner and covered. Solids and
drummed fluids will be stored within the fence compound of 1876 Country Club Blvd for
profiling and later disposal. Soil gas wells SG 3, SG4 and SG5 will be jack hammer cut and
break out traffic boxes prior to hand auger removal of the wells prior to backfill. All wells will
then be backfilled from the 5 foot depth to just below the surrounding base of the asphalt road
with control density backfill. Once the backfill is in place, the asphalt contractor will cut
surrounding asphalt forming a square or rectangle for the placement of hot patch asphalt as
per San Joaquin County Public works specifications. The well destructions are to occur along
the southern edge of Country Club Blvd and the western edge of Mission Road. Delineating
cones will be used to cordon off the work area. See figures 1 and 2. The advance warning
signage (Road Work Ahead) will be positioned 350 feet prior to the intersection of Mission
Road and Country Club Blvd (200 feet prior to wells MW9A and MW9B), western side of
Mission Road, 200 feet north of the intersection of Mission Road and Country Club Blvd,
eastern side of Mission Road 375 feet south of the intersection of Mission Road and Country
Club Blvd , at the northern edge of Roselawn Road 360 feet east of Mission road and at the
northern edge of Country Club Blvd. 375 feet east of Mission road, see Figure 2. The taper
will consist of delineators spaced at 5 foot offset and will be 15 feet long. A buffer zone will
consist of a work truck or drill rig inside of delineators at the work zone. Delineators will be
positioned between the work zone (work truck) and traffic. An End of Road Work sign will be
positioned 15 feet past the work zone.
1SANCHEZ DRILLING-HEALTH/SAFETY
