GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise <br />noted. <br />2. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must <br />remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />3. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and <br />testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour <br />prior notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard <br />Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />4. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from Caltrans, Stanislaus <br />County, and Cities of Lathrop, Manteca, Ripon, Stockton, and Tracy and other <br />agencies necessary for traffic control or any work outside of the County's <br />jurisdiction. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various <br />items of work. <br />5. The Contractor must enter into an Agreement with the BNSF Railway Company, <br />the Central California Traction Company Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad <br />for any work within the Railroad's right—of—way. See Section 5-1.20C, "Railroad <br />Relations" of the Specifications for further details. <br />6. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for the construction <br />and completion of the project, and must perform all work in accordance with <br />the requirements and conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the <br />project. <br />7. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench <br />marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all <br />expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or <br />disturbance. <br />8. Areas in County right—of—way used by Contractor for staging and/or storage of <br />materials must be approved by the Engineer. The areas utilized by the <br />Contractor for staging and/or storage area must be restored to their original <br />condition. Any damages or unclean conditions to staging or storage areas must <br />be repaired or cleaned at the Contractor's own expense. It will be the <br />Contractor's responsibility to obtain permission from property owners to stage <br />equipment or store materials on private property. The Contractor must provide <br />the Engineer a letter of release from property owners of areas utilized for <br />staging and/or storage of materials. <br />9. Placement of "No Parking" signs/barricades must be placed no less than 72 <br />hours prior to work. <br />10.
