GENERAL NOTES: 1. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 2. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 3. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour prior notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. 4. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from Caltrans, Stanislaus County, and Cities of Lathrop, Manteca, Ripon, Stockton, and Tracy and other agencies necessary for traffic control or any work outside of the County's jurisdiction. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items of work. 5. The Contractor must enter into an Agreement with the BNSF Railway Company, the Central California Traction Company Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad for any work within the Railroad's right—of—way. See Section 5-1.20C, "Railroad Relations" of the Specifications for further details. 6. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for the construction and completion of the project, and must perform all work in accordance with the requirements and conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the project. 7. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 8. Areas in County right—of—way used by Contractor for staging and/or storage of materials must be approved by the Engineer. The areas utilized by the Contractor for staging and/or storage area must be restored to their original condition. Any damages or unclean conditions to staging or storage areas must be repaired or cleaned at the Contractor's own expense. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to obtain permission from property owners to stage equipment or store materials on private property. The Contractor must provide the Engineer a letter of release from property owners of areas utilized for staging and/or storage of materials. 9. Placement of "No Parking" signs/barricades must be placed no less than 72 hours prior to work. 10. Your attention is directed towards Section 10-1.02, "Work Sequencing" and Section 10-1.05, "Relations with Local Schools," of the Specifications.
