PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS:

<br />THESE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS SHALL APPLY TO ALL IMPROVEMENTS AS SHOWN ON
<br />THESE PLANS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ROUGH GRADING, UTILITY,
<br />HARDSCAPE, PAVING AND BUILDING PAD CONSTRUCTION.
<br />THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED CONSISTS OF THE FURNISHING OF ALL LABOR, METHODS
<br />OR PROCESSES, IMPLEMENTS, TOOLS, MACHINERY, WATER AND MATERIALS NECESSARY
<br />AND REQUIRED FOR COMPLETION OF THE WORK.
<br />FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SPECIFICATION THE TERM "CONTRACTOR" SHALL MEAN
<br />"ALL CONTRACTORS" UNLESS OTHERWISE QUALIFIED.
<br />2.SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS
<br />ALL WORK TO BE DONE WITH THIS PROJECT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE STANDARD
<br />SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD DETAILS OF THE FOLLOWING UNLESS SPECIFICALLY
<br />NOTED OTHERWISE:
<br />·SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
<br />IF ANY DEVIATION FROM THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS OR SPECIFICATIONS OR AGENCY
<br />STANDARDS OR DETAILS IS MADE BY EITHER THE CONTRACTOR OR THE OWNER DURING
<br />THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION WITHOUT THE PRIOR NOTIFICATION, CONSENT, AND
<br />WRITTEN APPROVAL OF MACKAY & SOMPS, MACKAY & SOMPS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR
<br />THE RESULTS OF SUCH DEVIATIONS.
<br />3.QUALITY CONTROL
<br />ALL PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT WORK BY CONTRACTOR SHALL BE DONE UNDER THE
<br />INSPECTION OF, AND TO THE SATISFACTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE COUNTY
<br />ENGINEER. IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISPUTE ARISING AS TO THE INTERPRETATION OF
<br />THE LOCAL AGENCIES' SPECIFICATIONS OR DETAILS OR THE CHARACTER OF THE WORK
<br />DONE BY THE CONTRACTOR, THE DECISION OF THE COUNTY ENGINEER SHALL BE
<br />CONCLUSIVE.
<br />4.DISCREPANCIES
<br />IF THE CONTRACTOR, IN THE COURSE OF THE WORK, FINDS ANY DISCREPANCY
<br />BETWEEN THE PLANS AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS IN THE FIELD, OR ANY ERRORS OR
<br />OMISSION IN THE PLANS, IN THE LAYOUT OF SURVEY STAKES, AND/OR IN
<br />INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN, HE SHALL IMMEDIATELY INFORM MACKAY & SOMPS CIVIL
<br />ENGINEERS, INC.
<br />MANY OF THE ERRORS EXPERIENCED DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION ARE
<br />EASILY DETECTABLE (AND CORRECTABLE WITH MINIMAL EXPENSE AND DISRUPTION) IF
<br />COMMON SENSE AND GOOD CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES ARE FOLLOWED. MACKAY & SOMPS
<br />IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRANT CONSTRUCTION RESULTING FROM THE CONSTRUCTION
<br />PROCESS PROCEEDING BLINDLY FROM STAKES AND/OR PLANS WITHOUT CROSS
<br />REFERENCING BETWEEN THE TWO. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT ROUTINE CHECKS
<br />PRIOR TO AND DURING CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF IMPROVEMENTS AND
<br />SHALL HAVE PLANS AVAILABLE AT THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. CHECKS WILL
<br />INCLUDE (BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF ACTIVITIES:
<br />PLACING STRING LEVELS ON STRINGLINE CONTROLS TO CONFIRM PROPER SLOPE
<br />BEFORE USING THEM FOR CONSTRUCTION.
<br />A)USING STRAIGHT EDGE AND HAND LEVEL TO CONFIRM CROSS SLOPES AND
<br />ADEQUACY OF STREET DRAINAGE PRIOR TO PLACING PAVEMENT.
<br />B)SUBMITTING SHOP DRAWINGS OF FACTORY (OR FIELD) MANUFACTURED
<br />FACILITIES WHICH CONTAIN CRITICAL DIMENSIONS OR OTHER CRITICAL
<br />CHARACTERISTICS TO MACKAY & SOMPS OR OTHER CONSULTANTS FOR
<br />ACKNOWLEDGMENT WELL IN ADVANCE OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />C)TO COMPARE WHAT IS BEING CONSTRUCTED IN THE FIELD TO WHAT IS SHOWN
<br />ON THE PLANS. IMPROVEMENTS SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUCTED BY USING
<br />CONSTRUCTION STAKES ALONE.
<br />ANY TIME THE CONTRACTOR DOUBTS THE REASONABLENESS OR CORRECTNESS OF AN
<br />ELEMENT IN THE PLANS OR FIELD CONTROL STAKING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />CONTACT MACKAY & SOMPS FOR CLARIFICATION OR CONFIRMATION. MACKAY & SOMPS
<br />WILL ENDEAVOR TO RESPOND TO ANY SUCH INQUIRY MADE IN GOOD FAITH ON A
<br />HIGHEST PRIORITY BASIS. ANY WORK DONE AFTER SUCH A DISCOVERY, UNTIL THE
<br />PROBLEM HAS BEEN REMEDIED OR DISPELLED, WILL BE DONE AT THE CONTRACTOR'S
<br />OWN RISK.
<br />5.PERMITS, CONFORMANCE WITH LAWS
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE LAWS, ORDINANCES, ORDERS, RULES,
<br />AND REGULATIONS OF EVERY KIND RELATING TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK, AND
<br />IF ANY PERMIT SHALL BE REQUIRED BY ANY LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY OR BE
<br />NECESSARY BY LAW, ORDINANCE, OR OTHER REGULATIONS, THE SAME SHALL BE
<br />PROCURED BY CONTRACTOR AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE.
<br />GENERAL NOTES:
<br />1.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFIRMING EXISTING CONDITIONS
<br />AND CAREFUL EXAMINATION OF THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. THE
<br />SUBMISSION OF A BID SHALL BE CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT THE CONTRACTOR
<br />HAS A COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCOPE OF WORK, MATERIALS REQUIRED,
<br />AND QUALITY OF WORK REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THIS CONTRACT.
<br />2.ALL CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIAL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH LATEST
<br />EDITION OF THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY IMPROVEMENT STANDARDS. CONTACT PUBLIC
<br />WORKS CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION AT LEAST THREE (3) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO
<br />START OF ANY WORK TO ARRANGE FOR INSPECTION.
<br />3.BASIS OF ELEVATION DATUM (SEE COVER SHEET).
<br />4.THE EXISTING UTILITIES ARE PLOTTED FROM AVAILABLE RECORDS. THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES TO PROTECT THESE
<br />UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT EXCAVATE UNTIL ALL UTILITY
<br />AGENCIES AND COUNTY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MARK
<br />THEIR FACILITIES IN THE FIELD. CONTRACTOR SHALL LIABLE FOR ALL DAMAGES
<br />INCURRED.
<br />5.EXISTING UTILITIES SHALL NOT BE INTERRUPTED UNTIL THE UTILITY COMPANY
<br />HAS PROVIDED ALTERNATIVE SERVICE FACILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />COOPERATE AND COORDINATE THEIR WORK WITH THE APPROPRIATE AGENCIES AND
<br />UTILITY COMPANIES.
<br />6.ALL CONSTRUCTION STAKING FOR GRADING, CURB AND GUTTER, SIDEWALK,
<br />SANITARY SEWER, STORM DRAINS, WATER LINES, FIRE HYDRANTS, ELECTROLIERS,
<br />ETC. SHALL BE DONE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A REGISTERED CIVIL ENGINEER
<br />OR A LICENSED LAND\ SURVEYOR.
<br />7.ALL AREAS UNDERGOING GRADING, AND ALL OTHER CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
<br />SHALL BE WATERED, OR OTHER DUST-PALLIATIVE MEASURES USED, TO PREVENT
<br />DUST, AS CONDITIONS WARRANT. WATER TRUCKS SHALL BE AVAILABLE AT ALL
<br />TIMES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A POINT OF CONTACT RESPONSIBLE FOR
<br />DUST CONTROL WHO SHALL BE AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY.
<br />8.ALL LINES ABANDONED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REMOVED.
<br />9.EXISTING CURB, GUTTER AND SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMITS THAT ARE
<br />DAMAGED OR DISPLACED, SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED PER COUNTY STANDARD
<br />DETAILS.
<br />10.NO TREES SHALL BE REMOVED UNLESS THEY ARE SHOWN AND NOTED TO BE REMOVED
<br />ON THE IMPROVEMENT PLANS. ALL TREES CONFLICTING WITH GRADING,
<br />UTILITIES, OR OTHER IMPROVEMENTS, OR OVERHANGING THE SIDEWALK OR
<br />PAVEMENT TO FORM A NUISANCE OR HAZARD, SHALL BE TRIMMED AND PROPERLY
<br />TREATED AND SEALED. THE DRIP LINE OF TREES TO BE SAVED WILL BE FENCED,
<br />AND NO GRADING SHALL TAKE PLACE WITHIN THIS FENCED AREA.
<br />11.ALL STREET MONUMENTS, LOT CORNER, BENCHMARKS, AND OTHER PERMANENT PIPE
<br />OR MONUMENTS DISTURBED DURING THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE
<br />REPLACED BY A LICENSED CIVIL ENGINEER OR SURVEYOR PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE
<br />OF IMPROVEMENTS BY THE COUNTY.
<br />12.EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES SHALL BE INSTALLED COMPLETE PRIOR TO GRADING
<br />AND SHALL BE MAINTAINED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A CONTACT THAT
<br />CAN BE REACHED 24 HOURS A DAY . THESE FACILITIES SHALL CONTROL AND
<br />CONTAIN EROSION CAUSED SILT DEPOSITS AND PROVIDE FOR THE SAFE DISCHARGE
<br />OF SILT-FREE STORM WATERS INTO EXISTING STORM DRAIN FACILITIES.
<br />13.IF, DURING CONSTRUCTION, ARCHAEOLOGICAL REMAINS ARE ENCOUNTERED,
<br />CONSTRUCTION IN THE VICINITY SHALL BE HALTED, AND ARCHAEOLOGIST
<br />CONSULTED, AND THE COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT NOTIFIED. IF, IN THE
<br />OPINION OF THE ARCHAEOLOGIST, THE REMAINS ARE SIGNIFICANT, MEASURES, AS
<br />MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR, SHALL BE TAKEN TO PROTECT
<br />THEM.
<br />14.WORK SHALL BE RESTRICTED TO WEEKDAYS BETWEEN 7:00 AM AND 7:00 PM AND
<br />WEEKENDS 9:00 AM TO 5:00 PM. WORK WHICH REQUIRES ANY TRAFFIC LANE
<br />CLOSURES OR RESTRICTING OF THE TRAVELED WAY SHALL BE LIMITED TO 9:00 AM
<br />TO 3:30 PM IN THE COMMUTE DIRECTION AND 8:00 AM TO 4:30 PM IN THE
<br />NON-COMMUTE DIRECTION. ALL LANE CLOSURES SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE
<br />SCHOOL DISTRICT & COUNTY & WILL REQUIRE A FORMAL TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN
<br />BE PREPARED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
<br />15.THE OVERTIME COST FOR INSPECTING WORK THAT REQUIRES COUNTY INSPECTION
<br />AND IS PERFORMED BEFORE 8:00 AM, AFTER 5:00 PM, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS,
<br />SHALL BE PRE-PAID BY THE CONTRACTOR OR OWNER BEFORE THE WORK IS
<br />AUTHORIZED.
<br />16.CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT WHICH OPERATES AT A NOISE LEVEL IN EXCESS OF 85
<br />DECIBELS (MEASURED ON THE A-WEIGHTED SCALE DEFINED IN ANSI S-1.4) AT A
<br />DISTANCE OF 100 FEET FROM THE EQUIPMENT IS PROHIBITED.
<br />17.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP EXCAVATIONS FREE FROM WATER DURING
<br />CONSTRUCTION; STATIC WATER LEVEL SHALL BE DRAWN DOWN A MINIMUM OF 2
<br />FEET BELOW BOTTOM OF EXCAVATIONS TO MAINTAIN UNDISTURBED STATED OF
<br />NATURAL SOILS AND ALLOW PLACEMENT OF ANY FILL TO SPECIFIED DENSITY.
<br />DISPOSAL OF WATER SHALL NOT DAMAGE PROPERTY OR CREATE A PUBLIC
<br />NUISANCE. GROUNDWATER IS EXTREMELY SHALLOW AND MAY BE ENCOUNTERED
<br />DURING CONSTRUCTION. IF NEEDED, CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE METHOD OF
<br />DEWATERING AND PREPARE A DEWATERING PLAN FOR APPROVAL BY THE COUNTY
<br />INCLUDING LOCATIONS FOR DISCHARGE/DISPOSAL, PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS,
<br />ETC.
<br />18.DISPOSAL OF WATER INTO THE COUNTY SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM IS STRICTLY
<br />PROHIBITED.
<br />19.DISPOSAL OF WATER INTO EXISTING STORM DRAIN SYSTEM MUST BE APPROVED IN
<br />WRITING BY THE COUNTY ENGINEER.
<br />20.CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL STREETS, SIDEWALKS, AND ALL OTHER PUBLIC
<br />RIGHT-OF-WAY IN A CLEAN, SAFE AND USABLE CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE
<br />COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION. ALL SPILLS OF SOIL, ROCK, CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS,
<br />ETC., SHALL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY FROM PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY. ALL
<br />ADJACENT PROPERTY, PRIVATE OR PUBLIC, SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A CLEAN,
<br />SAFE AND USABLE CONDITION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FOR SAFE,
<br />UNOBSTRUCTED ACCESS TO PRIVATE PROPERTY ADJACENT TO WORK THROUGHOUT THE
<br />PERIOD OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />21.ALL TRASH, CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS AND MATERIALS SHALL BE CONTAINED WITHIN
<br />THE CONSTRUCTION AREA UNTIL OFF-SITE DISPOSAL CAN BE ARRANGED.
<br />22.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ADJOINING PUBLIC STREETS AND PARKING AREAS
<br />FREE AND CLEAN OF PROJECT DIRT, MUD AND MATERIALS DURING THE
<br />CONSTRUCTION PERIOD. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTIVE
<br />MEASURES AS DIRECTED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR AT NO EXPENSE TO THE
<br />COUNTY.
<br />23.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL SHORING, BRACING, SLOPING OR
<br />PROVISIONS TO PROTECT WORKMAN FOR ALL EXCAVATIONS AS REQUIRED FOR THE
<br />PROTECTION OF LIFE PROPERTY DURING CONSTRUCTION. SAID PROTECTION IS TO
<br />BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE COUNTY'S DEPARTMENT
<br />OF PUBLIC WORKS AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA REGULATIONS, AND AS PER THE
<br />GEOTECHNICAL REPORT.
<br />24.GEOTECHNICAL REPORT: ALL GRADING, TRENCHING, COMPACTION, & EARTHWORK
<br />SHALL COMPLY WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE
<br />GEOTECHNICAL REPORT FOR THE COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN.
<br />25.THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS REPRESENT THE FINISHED
<br />STRUCTURE/SURFACE, THEY DO NOT INDICATE THE METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MEASURES NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE
<br />STRUCTURE/SURFACE DURING CONSTRUCTION. SUCH MEASURES SHALL INCLUDE,
<br />BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, BRACING, SHORING OF LOADS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
<br />EQUIPMENT, ETC. OBSERVATION VISITS BY THE DESIGN TEAM SHALL NOT
<br />INCLUDE INSPECTION, REVIEW, OR ACCEPTANCE OF THE ABOVE ITEMS.
<br />26.PRIOR TO ANY WORK BEING PERFORMED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ATTEND A
<br />PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH THE COUNTY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE
<br />THE COUNTY AT LEAST 3 WORKING DAYS NOTICE TO SCHEDULE THE
<br />PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO NOTIFY THE PROJECT
<br />CONTACTS LISTED ON COVER SHEET A MINIMUM OF 3 WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE
<br />OF SAID MEETING:
<br />27.ANY DISTURBED OR NEWLY GRADED SOIL MUST BE HYDROSEEDED.
<br />INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS
<br />A.ANY IMPROVEMENTS FOR WHICH THE COUNTY WILL ASSUME MAINTENANCE
<br />RESPONSIBILITY SHALL BE INSPECTED DURING CONSTRUCTION BY THE COUNTY
<br />ENGINEER. EACH PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE INSPECTED AND
<br />APPROVED PRIOR TO PROCEEDING TO SUBSEQUENT PHASES.
<br />B.THE COUNTY SHALL BE GIVEN ADVANCE NOTICE (3 WORKING DAYS) OF
<br />INITIAL CONSTRUCTION START-UP AND 48-HOUR NOTICE OF SPECIALTY
<br />INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS NEEDED DURING THE PROJECT.
<br />C.ANY IMPROVEMENTS CONSTRUCTED WITHOUT INSPECTION AS PROVIDED ABOVE
<br />OR CONSTRUCTED CONTRARY TO THE ORDER OR INSTRUCTIONS OF THE COUNTY
<br />ENGINEER WILL BE DEEMED AS NOT COMPLYING WITH STANDARD
<br />SPECIFICATIONS AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY FOR
<br />MAINTENANCE PURPOSES.
<br />D.THE CONSULTING ENGINEER SHALL PROVIDE THE COUNTY WITH A COPY OF ALL
<br />CUT SHEETS.
<br />E.ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACCEPTED WORKMANSHIP
<br />PRACTICE, THE APPROVED PLANS, AND THESE IMPROVEMENT STANDARDS. ANY
<br />WORK NOT ACCEPTED BY THE COUNTY SHALL BE REDONE UNTIL COMPLIANCE IS
<br />ACHIEVED. DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE COUNTY RELATING TO QUALITY OF
<br />MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP SHALL BE COMPLIED WITH PROMPTLY BY THE
<br />CONTRACTOR.
<br />F.ALL MATERIALS USED SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE INSPECTION AND APPROVAL
<br />OF THE DEPARTMENT AT ALL TIMES, AND SHALL NOT BE USED BEFORE BEING
<br />INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY THE COUNTY. THE DEPARTMENT HAS THE RIGHT
<br />TO REQUIRE ANY TESTING DEEMED NECESSARY TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE OF THE
<br />MATERIALS WITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. FAILURE OR NEGLECT ON
<br />THE PART OF THE DEPARTMENT TO CONDEMN OR REJECT WORK OR MATERIALS
<br />NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS SHALL NOT BE
<br />CONSTRUED TO IMPLY THEIR ACCEPTANCE, SHOULD THEIR INFERIORITY
<br />BECOME EVIDENT UP TO ONE YEAR AFTER ACCEPTANCE BY THE COUNTY.
<br />MATERIALS REJECTED BY THE COUNTY SHALL BE PROMPTLY REMOVED FROM THE
<br />JOB SITE.
<br />G.PAVING AND SWALE WORK TO BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY SOILS
<br />ENGINEER.
<br />SPECIAL NOTICES AND PERMITS
<br />1.CONTRACTOR SHALL BE IN RECEIPT OF COUNTY APPROVED PLANS PRIOR TO
<br />CONSTRUCTION.
<br />2.CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ALL UTILITY COMPANIES, AND GOVERNMENTAL OR
<br />MUNICIPAL AGENCIES AFFECTED BY THE DEVELOPMENT PRIOR TO BEGINNING OF
<br />WORK.
<br />3.CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY "UNDERGROUND SERVICE ALERT" (800-227-2660 OR
<br />811) 48-HOURS IN ADVANCE BEFORE ANY DIGGING.
<br />4.CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION OF ALL EXISTING
<br />MONUMENTS AND/OR OTHER SURVEY MONUMENTS AND SHALL NOTIFY SAN JOAQUIN
<br />COUNTY SURVEYOR OF ANY DAMAGED OR REMOVED COUNTY, STATE OR FEDERAL
<br />MONUMENTS.
<br />5.CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT THEIR OPERATION ENTIRELY OUTSIDE OF ANY "NO
<br />GRADING" AREA. THESE AREAS SHALL BE CLEARLY DELINEATED IN THE FIELD
<br />PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
<br />6.WHERE WORK IS BEING DONE IN AN OFFSITE EASEMENT, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />NOTIFY THE PROPERTY OWNER 48-HOURS PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK.
<br />PROJECT SPECIFIC NOTES
<br />1.PRIOR TO PLACING CURB AND GUTTER, SIDEWALK, ASPHALT CONCRETE, SUB-BASE,
<br />OR BASE MATERIAL, ALL UNDERGROUND FACILITIES WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY
<br />SHALL BE INSTALLED, BACKFILL COMPLETED, AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
<br />NOTIFIED THAT THE UTILITY INSTALLATION HAS SATISFACTORILY PASSED
<br />ACCEPTANCE TESTS BY EACH OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES HAVING FACILITIES
<br />WITHIN THE WORK AREAS.
<br />2.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING MONUMENTS AND HAVE THE
<br />ENGINEER TIE OUT BEFORE THE SETTING OF ALL NEW MONUMENTS. ALL SURVEY
<br />MONUMENT WELLS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY CONTRACTOR AT
<br />LOCATIONS SHOWN. DEVELOPER'S ENGINEER SHALL SET AND STAMP ALL
<br />MONUMENTS AND FURNISH THE COUNTY ENGINEER WITH A COPY OF A TIE PLAT FOR
<br />EACH MONUMENT.
<br />3.ANY EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE
<br />REMOVED, REPLACED, AND FULLY RESTORED TO IT'S ORIGINAL CONDITION AT THE
<br />DEVELOPER'S COST. ALL WORK SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE COUNTY ENGINEER.
<br />4.DEVELOPER/CONTRACTORS WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAN JOAQUIN
<br />VALLEY POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT (SJVAPCD) GUIDELINES, INCLUDING
<br />SJVAPCD REGULATION VIII AND IMPLEMENT CONTROL MEASURES BASED ON
<br />SJVAPCD'S COMPLIANCE ASSISTANCE BULLETIN FOR SHORT TERM IMPACTS.
<br />SJVAPCD SHALL BE CONTACTED TO DISCUSS MITIGATION MEASURES AND IMPLEMENT
<br />MEASURES FROM TABLE 6-4 OF THE GUIDE FOR ASSESSING AND MITIGATION AIR
<br />QUALITY IMPACTS AS WELL.
<br />5.ALTHOUGH NOT ANTICIPATED TO BE REQUIRED, IF NECESSARY, DEWATERING PLANS
<br />FOR ALL TRENCHES SHALL BE SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL BY THE COUNTY
<br />ENGINEER.
<br />6.ALL EXISTING UTILITIES INDICATED HEREON ARE BASED ON RECORD
<br />INFORMATION. THEY ARE INTENDED TO SHOW APPROXIMATE LOCATION ONLY. IT
<br />IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE LOCATION OF ALL
<br />EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />NOTIFICATION:
<br />7.THE OFFICE OF MACKAY AND SOMPS (925-225-0690) SHALL BE NOTIFIED AT
<br />LEAST TWO (2) WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE NEED FOR CONSTRUCTION
<br />STAKING. CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE THEIR EFFORTS TO ALLOW TIME AFTER
<br />THE FIELD CREW ARRIVES AT THE SITE FOR THE STAKING NEEDS TO BE
<br />ADEQUATELY FULFILLED PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />8.SHOULD IT APPEAR THAT THE WORK TO BE DONE OR ANY MATTER RELATIVE
<br />THERETO IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY DETAILED OR EXPLAINED ON THESE PLANS, THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT MACKAY & SOMPS AT 925-225-0690 FOR FURTHER
<br />EXPLANATION.
<br />9.IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE
<br />COUNTY INSPECTOR AND MACKAY & SOMPS UPON DISCOVERY OF ANY UNANTICIPATED
<br />FIELD CONFLICTS. SPECIFIC DETAILS ARE SHOWN ON THESE PLANS FOR OFFSETS
<br />AND CLOSE CROSSINGS THAT MAY BE NEEDED TO RESOLVE SUCH CONFLICTS.
<br />10.CONTACT SOILS ENGINEER FOR COMPACTION TESTS AND REVIEW OF SUB SURFACE
<br />CONDITIONS. SOILS ENGINEER WILL IDENTIFY ANY OVER EXCAVATION
<br />REQUIREMENTS ALONG THE EXISTING ROADSIDE AND BBID DRAINAGE/IRRIGATION
<br />DITCHES.
<br />SAFETY:
<br />11.THE CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT IN ACCORDANCE WITH GENERALLY ACCEPTED
<br />CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES, CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE
<br />RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS AND
<br />PROPERTY. THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE LIMITED
<br />TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS.
<br />12.ALL TRENCHES SHALL BE SHORED AND PROTECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH OSHA
<br />REQUIREMENTS.
<br />PROTECTION AND RESTORATION OF EXISTING FACILITIES:
<br />13.CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ACCESS TO ALL EXISTING CROSS STREETS AT ALL
<br />TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION UNLESS APPROVED OTHERWISE.
<br />14.PRIOR TO CONNECTING TO THE EXISTING 48" STORM DRAIN, CONTRACTOR TO
<br />HYDRO TEST ENTIRE PIPE TO 100 PSI FOR A PERIOD OF 2 HOURS. IF TEST
<br />FAILS, CONTACT THE ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY.
<br />15.EXISTING FENCES / BARRICADES DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE
<br />RETURNED TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE
<br />TEMPORARY FENCING WHERE NEEDED TO ENSURE THAT LIVESTOCK REMAINS
<br />CONFINED TO WITHIN EXISTING BOUNDARIES.
<br />16.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION OF PUBLIC AND
<br />PRIVATE PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE LIMITS OF WORK AND SHALL EXERCISE DUE
<br />CAUTION TO AVOID DAMAGE TO SUCH PROPERTY.
<br />17.SAFE AND ADEQUATE PEDESTRIAN ZONES AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION STOPS, AS
<br />WELL AS PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS OF THE WORK AT INTERVALS NOT EXCEEDING 300
<br />FEET SHALL BE MAINTAINED UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
<br />18.SAFE AND ADEQUATE PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR ACCESS SHALL BE PROVIDED AND
<br />MAINTAINED TO FIRE HYDRANTS, COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS,
<br />PUBLIC BUILDINGS, PARKING LOTS, AND ESTABLISHMENTS OF SIMILAR NATURE.
<br />ACCESS TO THESE FACILITIES SHALL BE CONTINUOUS AND UNOBSTRUCTED UNLESS
<br />OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
<br />19.TRAFFIC:
<br />20.IF TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES ARE REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS,
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE A TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN AND OBTAIN APPROVAL
<br />FROM THE COUNTY BEFORE COMMENCING WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO
<br />PROVIDE FLAGGERS, CONES AND/OR BARRICADES AS NECESSARY TO CONTROL
<br />TRAFFIC AND PREVENT HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.
<br />21.CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TRAFFIC CONTROL PER COUNTY SPECIFICATIONS
<br />DURING CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTAIN TWO-WAY TRAFFIC FOR ACCESS TO EACH
<br />BUSINESS AT THE END OF EACH DAY.
<br />22.EXISTING DRIVEWAYS IMPACTED BY CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REPLACED IN KIND.
