General <br />This document des=cribes installation of the side -mount pole-rnounting braclkel kit used viith the <br />Corning 4phTe#„' Premier Local Convergence Cabinet. <br />2. Carton Contents <br />- S-mounl bracket and cabinet fastening hardware <br />3. Tools and Materials Required <br />3.1 Tools <br />53.E <br />■ Hoist or lifting device capable of lifting at <br />least 150 pounds (largest cabinets weight, <br />including packaging) <br />DOI w1h 718 -in auger bit <br />a 9,16 -in nut driver or socket <br />3,14 -in ntA driver or socket <br />3.2 Materials <br />Pole line hard::are such as a 7A&in baits <br />Move k <br />washers and nuts kFigure 1) <br />ID 711e 1 <br />4. Installation <br />- <br />-rhe lower arm attached to the vertical is <br />preinstalled in the location for mounting a <br />_-- <br />432-fifer cabinet_ If installing a 2Mfiber cabinet. <br />-� <br />remove the lower arra and moue it up to the next <br />holes shmYn in Figure 1. <br />F>tgure 1 <br />Step 1, DrilI the first hole through the pale and secure the side -mount bracket to the back of the <br />pale through the top bole cath the hardware shown in Figure 'l. <br />Step 2. Level the vertical bracket top--to-bottom and using it as a template_ drim the bottom hole <br />through the urtilly pole Insert the 718 -in bolt through the bracket and the pole- Fasten <br />,vAth the hardware shown in Figure 1. <br />Step 3: Reposition the cable in front <br />of the cabinet in preparation for <br />lifling Attach them to the I"sfting <br />cable as shown in the Figure 2 <br />inset. <br />Step 4: Lift the cabinet into posifion on <br />the left side of the pole. Slpde <br />the hooks at the top real of the <br />cabin -el over the top arm of the <br />side -mount bracket vAth the <br />metal protrusion an the arm <br />between the mounting hooks on <br />the cabinet Figure 2 inset). <br />Step 5: Level the cabinet front -lo -back <br />and secure the battarn rear <br />bracket on the cabinet to the <br />lower arm of the side -mount <br />bracket with the hardware <br />provided. <br />Step 6: Place the cables in the bracket and secure with Defte <br />straps or equivalent through the slot in the bracket <br />(Figure 2A). Then secure the cables to the top arm of <br />the side -mount bracket vAth another strap (bi. <br />Step 7: Secure the cages to the pole per standard company <br />practices. <br />Step 8: Remove the lifting cables and cover the lifting eyes velth <br />the covers as shown in the Figure 2 inset. <br />5. Work Operations <br />To work inside the caNnet, lean a ladder against the pule at a <br />30 -degree angle (Figure 3)_ Secure the ladder per company safety <br />requirements. Climb up the ladder to work inside the cabinet <br />and follow all company safety requirements to secure yourself <br />to the pole.
