If distance from curb to back of sidewalk is too short to accomodate romp <br />and 4' platform, the sidewalk may be depressed longitudinally as in Case A <br />or B or may be widened as in Case C. <br />2. If sidewalk is less than 5' wide, the full width of the sidewalk <br />shall be depressed as shown in Case B. <br />3. When ramp is located in the center of the curb return, the crosswalk configuration <br />must be similar to that shown on the plan to accomodate wheelchairs. <br />4. If located on a curve, the sides of the ramp don't need to be parallel, but <br />the minimum width of the ramp shall be 4'. <br />5. Sidewalk and ramp thickness shall be 4" minimum. <br />6. The ramp shall have a 12" wide border, with 1/4" grooves approximately 3/4" <br />center to center. See grooving detail, County Standard Drawing No. R -10C. <br />7. Ramp side slope varies uniformly from maximum of 10% at curb to confirm with <br />longitudinal sidewalk slope adjacent to top of the ramp, except in Case B. <br />8. Ramp Slopes: 1:12 max (8.33%) <br />9. Curb romps shall have a detectable warning surface that extends the full width and <br />3'—D" depth of the ramp. Detectable Warning Surfaces shall conform to the details <br />on this plan and the requirements in the Special Provisions and the latest Caltrans <br />Standard Plan A88A. <br />10. The edge of the Detectable Warning Surface nearest the street shall be between 6" <br />and 8' from the gutter flowline. <br />11.
