Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair <br />has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving <br />has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must <br />remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The <br />Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br />existing drainage. <br />7. Hand grinding of Roadway Surfacing pavement will be required at locations where <br />existing highway and utility facilities are within the Planing Roadway Surfacing and <br />Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in <br />the contract unit price paid for Planing Roadway Surfacing. <br />8. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing <br />the final layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or <br />drifted on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment <br />at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be <br />confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the <br />intersection conform. <br />10. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of <br />all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour prior notice to <br />the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re --testing <br />will be paid by the Contractor. <br />11. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each <br />utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor <br />must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of <br />performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1-800-642-2444) or 811. <br />12. The Contractor must enter into an Agreement with the Union Pacific Railroad for any <br />work within the Railroad's right--of-way. See SECTION 5-1.20C Railroad Relations of the <br />Specifications for further details. <br />13.
