GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. 0.25' Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay must be placed in two <br />(2) layers of approximately equal thickness with <br />Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) placed <br />between the layers. <br />2. Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay must not begin <br />until the Hot Mix Asphalt used in Pavement Repair has <br />been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Driveways must not begin <br />until the Hot Mix Asphalt used for Mainline Paving has <br />been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in <br />place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other <br />frontage improvements must remain in place unless <br />otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless <br />otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct <br />earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct <br />the existing drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be <br />completed prior to placing the final layer of Hot Mix <br />Asphalt Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be <br />deposited or drifted on the final layer of Hot Mix <br />Asphalt surfacing. Where the shoulder placement <br />exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must <br />be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />8. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must <br />receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square <br />yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must <br />be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in <br />each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately <br />scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities <br />constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 <br />hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to <br />the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid <br />by. the Contractor. <br />10. The Contractor must enter into an Agreement with the <br />Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway for any work <br />within the Railroad's right—of—way.
