The Contractor must conduct earthwork <br />operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing <br />drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be <br />completed prior to placing the final layer of Hot Mix Asphalt <br />Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or <br />drifted on the final layer of Hot Mix Asphalt surfacing. Where <br />the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the <br />Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully <br />compacted layers. <br />8. Shoulder Backing or native material at all intersection radii <br />must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square <br />yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be <br />confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each <br />direction or to the intersection conform. <br />9. The Contractor <br />will be <br />responsible for adequately <br />scheduling <br />inspection and <br />testing <br />of <br />all facilities constructed <br />under this <br />contract with a <br />minimum <br />24 hour notice to the <br />County. All <br />testing must conform <br />to <br />the Standard Specifications. All <br />re—testing will <br />be paid <br />by <br />the Contractor. <br />10. The Contractor must notify the City of Stockton at (209) <br />937-5658 72 hours in advance of adjusting the City's <br />facilities to finished grade. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required <br />for the construction and completion of the project, and must <br />perform all work in accordance with the requirements and <br />conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the <br />project. <br />12. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete pavement will be required <br />next to the lip of gutter and at locations where existing <br />highway and utility facilities are within the Planing Asphalt <br />Concrete Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for <br />hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract <br />unit price paid for Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement. <br />13. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully <br />preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points <br />and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss <br />or disturbance. <br />14. Recompact existing road aggregate base or native if disturbed <br />during Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement Operations to 95% <br />relative compaction.
