Prior to commencing any work, it shall be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor <br />shall notify members of the underground service alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll—free number (1-800-227-2600). <br />2. The Contractor shall field verify all utility locations and depths. It shall be the Contractor's sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing utilities so that no damage <br />results to them during the performance of this contract. The Contractor shall be required to cooperate with other contractors and utility companies installing new structures, <br />utilities, and services to the project. <br />3. The Contractor shall be responsible for all permits and licenses required for the construction and completion of the project, and shall perform all work in accordance with the <br />requirements and conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to this project. <br />4. The Contractor shall exercise due caution and shall carefully preserve bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and shall bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />5. Placement of Asphalt Concrete overlay shall not begin until the Asphalt Concrete used in Pavement Repair has been in place for 18 hours. <br />6. The 0.25' Asphalt Concrete shall be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness. <br />7. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete pavement will be required where SDIs are within the planing limits. Payment for hand grinding shall be considered as included in the <br />contract unit price paid for Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement. <br />8. Storm Drain Inlets shall be protected from liquid runoff sediments and chemical pollutant in a manner consistent with the requirements of the National Pollution Discharge <br />Elimination System (NPDES) General Construction Permit and per Special Provisions. <br />9. Existing drainage facilities, fences, water valves, frames and covers, water meters, trees, shrubs, curb, gutter and sidewalk, etc. shall remain in place unless otherwise noted <br />on the Plans. <br />10. The Contractor shall be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract. All testing shall conform to the Standard <br />Specifications. All re—testing shall be paid by the Contractor. <br />11.
