1. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractors responsibility to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 Hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1-800-227-2600) 2. The Contractor must field verify all existing highway and utility facilitieslocations and depths. It will be the Contractors sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing highway and utility facilities, so that no damage results to them during the performance of this contract. 3. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for the construction and completion of the project, and must perform all work in accordance with the requirements and conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the project. 4. Placement of temporary "No Parking" Signs must be placed no less than 24 hours prior to commencing planing. 5. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 6. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the end of each working day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be consistent with that of the roadbed (or roadway) surface that it is to be placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in the various items of work. 7. Hand Grinding of Asphalt Concrete Pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement. 8. 0.33' Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) placed on the existing or prepared surface. 9. Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay must not begin until the Hot Mix Asphalt used in Pavement Repair has been in place fora minimum of 18 hours. 10. All new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk must conform to the existing flowline elevations with a straight grade between conforms unless otherwise noted. 11. Install Expansion Joints at beginning and end of new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk, and �, between new sidewalks and existing driveways. 0 12. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hours notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor.
