GENERAL NOTES: 1. One week prior to the start of work, the Contractor must furnish to the Engineer a schedule showing proposed street closures on each half—day basis. No work will commence until this schedule is approved by the Engineer. 2. All intersection radii within project limits must be sealed to lip ofexisting curb and gutter or edge of pavement. 3. Surface preparation work must be as directed by the Engineer. Locations and dimensions of Pavement Repair will be determined by the Engineer. Slurry Seal must must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. 4. The aggregate for Slurry Seal must be Type II, 5. The Contractor must perform street sweeping throughout the durationof the Slurry Seal operations of the project per the specifications. Full compensation for sweeping operations must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Slurry Seal (Type II) item of work and no separate payment will be made therefor. n 6. The Contractor must perform Slurry Seal operations on streets whereschools are situated on the weekend or when school is not in session unless allowed by written approval from the Engineer. 7. The contractor must not begin slurry sealing a street after 1:00pmwithout the approval from the Engineer. 8. Areas in County right—of—way used by Contractor for staging and/orstorage of materials will be approved by the Engineer. The areas utilized by the Contractor for staging and/or storage area must be restored to their original condition. Any damages or unclean conditions to staging or storage areas must be repaired at the Contractor's own expense. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to obtain permission from the property owner to stage j equipment or store materials on private property. The Contractor must provide a letter of release from the property owner of the areas utilized for staging and/or storage of materials. i 9. Placement of "No Parking" signs/barricades must be placed no lessthan 72 hours prior to work. 10. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unlessotherwise noted. 11. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontageimprovements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 12. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 13. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspectionand testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. 14. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City ofStockton and City of Tracy for traffic control or any work within the City's jurisdiction. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items of work. 15. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for theconstruction and completion of the project, and must perform all work in accordance with the requirements and conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the project. 16. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete pavement will be required atlocations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Pavement Repair. 17. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance.
