GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each <br />utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor <br />must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of <br />performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (811) <br />2. The Contractor must field verify all existing highway and utility facilities' locations and <br />depths. It will be the Contractor's sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing <br />highway and utility facilities, so that no damage results to them during the performance <br />of this contract. The Contractor will be required to cooperate with other contractors and <br />utility companies installing new structures, utilities and services to the project. Payment for <br />this work will be considered to be included in the various items of work. <br />3. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the <br />end . f each working day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must <br />be consistent with that of the roadbed (or roadway) surface that it is to be placed upon. <br />Payment for this work will be considered as included in the various items of work. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5._Fxisting trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must <br />remain in place unless otherwise noted. Payment for removal of tree noted in plans <br />must be considered as paid under Clearing and Grubbing. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The <br />Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br />existing drainage. <br />7. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing <br />of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the <br />County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re -testing will be <br />paid by the Contractor. <br />8. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, <br />control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />9. All new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk must conform to the existing flowline elevations <br />with a straight grade between conforms unless otherwise noted. <br />10. Payment for Earthwork and AC Misc areas when necessary must be considered as <br />paid under Minor Concrete Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk. <br />11.
