W <br />s <br />GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. 0.25' HMA Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) placed on the existing or prepared surface. <br />2. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA Overlay. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted on the final <br />layer of HMA Overlay. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />8. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All <br />testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing must be paid by the Contractor. <br />9. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City of Tracy and Union Pacific Railroad (U.P.R.R.) for traffic control or any work within the City's and U.P.R.R.'s <br />jurisdiction. Payment for this must be considered to be included in the various items of work. <br />10. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement and Pavement <br />Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement, <br />11. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement <br />and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />PROJECT NOTES: <br />1. Protect existing Handhole at Sto 10+23 Lt, 11+78 Lt, 42+80 Rt, and 44+25 Rt. Replace loops and conduits only within grinding limits. <br />2. Adjust existing Handhole to grade at Sta 13+42 Lt, 45+78 Lt, and 47+11 Lt. Replace loops and conduits at Sta 13+51 Lt (1 Loop) and 45+78 Lt (5 Loops). h <br />3. Contractor must contact City of Tracy prior to removal and replacement of loops at approximate Sta 11+87 and 13+51. Contact at Tracy City is Ripon Bhatia at (209) <br />831-6455. Protect all existing loops outside of grinding limits. <br />4.
