GENERAL NOTES: <br />must obtain an <br />Encroachment Permit from Caltrans and <br />the cities <br />1. One week prior to the start of work, the Contractor must furnish to the <br />Engineer a <br />schedule showing <br />proposed street closures on each half—day basis. <br />No work will commence until this schedule is approved by the Engineer. <br />within the City's <br />juruisdiction. <br />Payment for this will be considered to be <br />2. Full <br />compensation for sweeping operations must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Slurry Seal (Type II) item of work and no <br />separate payment will be made therefor. <br />6. The Contractor must perform Slurry Seal operations on streets where schools are situated on the weekend or when school is not in session unless <br />allowed by written approval from the Engineer. <br />7. The contractor must not begin Slurry Sealing a street after 1:00pm without the approval from the Engineer. <br />8. Areas in County right—of—way used by Contractor for staging and/or storage of materials will be approved by the Engineer. The areas utilized by the <br />Contractor for staging and/or storage area must be restored to their original condition. Any damages or unclean conditions to staging or storage areas <br />must be repaired at the Contractor's own expense. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to obtain permission from the property owner to stage <br />equipment or store materials on private property. The Contractor must provide a letter of release from the property owner of the areas utilized for <br />staging and/or storage of materials. <br />9. Placement of No Parking signs/barricades must be placed no less than 72 hours prior to work. <br />10. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />11. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />12. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or <br />obstruct the existing drainage. <br />13. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 <br />hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />14. The Contractor <br />must obtain an <br />Encroachment Permit from Caltrans and <br />the cities <br />of <br />Stockton, <br />Manteca, <br />Ripon, <br />and Tracy for traffic control or any work <br />within the City's <br />juruisdiction. <br />Payment for this will be considered to be <br />included <br />in <br />the various <br />items of <br />work. <br />caution and carefully preserve <br />15. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete <br />pavement will <br />be required at <br />locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Pavement Repair limits. <br />Payment for hand grinding will be <br />considered as <br />included in the <br />contract unit <br />price paid for Pavement Repair. <br />17.
