v <br />z <br />0 <br />GENERAL NOTES <br />1. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City of Stockton, and the <br />State of California for traffic control or any work within the City of Stockton and the <br />State of California jurisdiction. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the <br />various items of work. <br />2. The Contractor must obtain all permits required for the construction and completion of <br />the project, and must perform all work in accordance with the requirements and <br />conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the project. <br />3. The Contractor must submit a temporary traffic control plan and sidewalk closure plan to <br />the Engineer for approval two weeks prior to construction. <br />4. Prior <br />to commencing <br />any work, it will be <br />the Contractor's responsibility to have each <br />utility <br />company locate <br />in the field their main services lines and laterals. The Contractor <br />must <br />notify members <br />of the Underground <br />Service Alert (U.S.A) 48 hours in advance of <br />performing excav^tion <br />work by calling the <br />toll free number (1-800-227-2600). <br />5. The Contractor must field verify all existing highway and utility facilities' locations and <br />depths. It will be the Contractors sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing <br />highway and utility facilities, so that no damage results to them during the performance <br />of this contract. <br />6. Match new joint and score mark spacing to existing Crack Control Joints whenever <br />possible. <br />7. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />8. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in <br />place unless otherwise noted. <br />9. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor <br />must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />10. All Minor Concrete (Curb, Gutter & Sidewalk) work that is to be removed will be saw cut <br />or removed to the limits shown on the plans. The cost of saw cutting will be considered <br />as paid for under the various items of work involved. <br />11. All new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk must conform to the existing flowline elevations with a <br />straight grade between conforms unless otherwise noted. <br />12. Install Expansion Joints at beginning and end of new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk and <br />between new sidewalks and existing driveways. <br />13. Existing sprinkler systems, or portions thereof, will be maintained or protected during <br />construction operations. Any damage to the existing system must be repaired within 48 <br />hours at the Contractor's expense. Upon completion of the work, the Contractor must <br />restore the sprinkler system to its original condition. <br />14.
