Const <br />Limits of Clearing and Grubbing and Mailbox Relocation <br />0.25' HMA Overlay — <br />TYPICAL SECTION <br />Sta 10+16 to Sta 200+15 <br />GENERAL NOTES: <br />Existing <br />— — — d Surface (Typ) <br />Grade Existing Shoulder <br />to place Taper Edge <br />1' mum width (Typ) <br />1. 0.25' HMA Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) <br />placed between the layers. <br />2. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to <br />modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing <br />material must be deposited or drifted on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the <br />Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />8. Shoulder Backing material at all intersections radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 GAL/SQYD. Limits of the Penetration Treatment <br />work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a <br />minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />10. Hand grinding of AC pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Planing AC and Pavement <br />Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing AC Pavement. <br />11. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, <br />and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />12.
