Const Limits of Clearing and Grubbing and Mailbox Relocation 0.25' HMA Overlay — TYPICAL SECTION Sta 10+16 to Sta 200+15 GENERAL NOTES: Existing — — — d Surface (Typ) Grade Existing Shoulder to place Taper Edge 1' mum width (Typ) 1. 0.25' HMA Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) placed between the layers. 2. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. 3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material must be deposited or drifted on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. 8. Shoulder Backing material at all intersections radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 GAL/SQYD. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. 9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. 10. Hand grinding of AC pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Planing AC and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing AC Pavement. 11. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 12. Remove Asphalt Concrete Surfacing to be paid under Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement.
