GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. HotMix Asphalt Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric placed between <br />the layers. <br />2. Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay must not begin until the Hot Mix Asphalt used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Driveways must not begin until the Hot Mix Asphalt used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Hand grinding of AC pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Planing AC Pavement and Pavement Repair <br />limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing AC Pavement. <br />5. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />7. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br />existing drainage. <br />8. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will <br />be deposited or drifted on the final layer of Hot Mix Asphalt surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be <br />placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />9. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must <br />be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />10. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City of Stockton for traffic control or any work within the City's jurisdiction. Payment for this will <br />be considered to be included in the various items of work. <br />11. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice <br />to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />12. Before obliterating or applying any surfacing over any existing traffic stripes, pavement markings, and pavement markers to be replaced at the <br />some location, reference the stripes, markings, and markers. Include limits and transitions with control points to reestablish the new stripes, <br />markings, and markers. Submit your references to the control points at least 5 working days before obliterating or applying any surfacing <br />over the stripes, markings, and markers. The contractor will be responsible for preserving all reference control points. The contractor must <br />contact the Engineer a minimum of 2 days prior to the placement of stripes, pavement markings, and pavement markers to obtain approval <br />for the alignment of traffic stripes and all layouts for pavement markings. A double traffic stripe consisting of two 4—inch—wide yellow <br />stripes separated by a 3—inch—wide gap are measured as two traffic stripes. <br />COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN �!
