s <br />y <br />0 <br />r <br />m <br />m <br />z <br />0 <br />GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. 0.25' Asphalt Concrete Overlay shall be placed in two (2) layers; <br />0.15' Asphalt Concrete Overlay over 0.10' Asphalt Concrete Overlay <br />with Pavement Reinforcing Fabric placed between the layers. <br />2. Placement of Asphalt Concrete Overlay shall not begin until the <br />Asphalt Concrete used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a <br />minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of Asphalt Concrete Driveways shall not begin until the <br />Asphalt Concrete used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities shall remain in place unless <br />otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage <br />improvements shall remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise <br />noted. The Contractor shall conduct earthwork operations so as <br />not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. Existing native material or fill material selected from Earthwork <br />(Miscellaneous Areas) and Pavement Repair locations shall be <br />graded to match the existing roadway cross slope and the <br />designed lane width distance from the existing yellow line as shown <br />on the typical sections and plans. Existing pavement that is wider <br />than shown on the typical sections and plans shall be saw cut, <br />pulverized and recompacted in kind up to a thickness of 0.30'. <br />8. All earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, shall be completed <br />prior to placing the final layer of Asphalt Concrete Pavement. No <br />Shoulder Backing material shall be deposited or drifted on the final <br />layer of Asphalt Concrete surfacing. Where the shoulder placement <br />exceeds 0.30' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing shall be placed in <br />two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />9. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii shall receive <br />Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the <br />Penetration Treatment work shall be confined to intersection radii <br />plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection <br />conform. <br />10. For areas where the existing shoulder (within four (4) feet from <br />new edge of pavement) is sod, topsoil shall be used as the <br />shoulder backing material. Locations are as follows: <br />Frederick Avenue: <br />115+23 to 115+45 (Lt) <br />145+60 to 147+00 (Lt) <br />11. The Contractor shall be responsible for adequately scheduling <br />inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this <br />contract.
