Prior to commencing <br />any work, it shall <br />be the Contractor's <br />responsibility to have each <br />utility company locate <br />in the field their <br />main and service lines. The Contractor shall <br />notify the members of <br />the Underground <br />Service Alert (USA) <br />48 hours in advance of <br />performing excavation <br />work and/or sign <br />relocation work by <br />calling the toll—free number <br />1-800-227-2600 or <br />811. <br />Sta 42+50 to <br />Sto <br />2. The area above the natural ground surface shall be cleared of all vegetation such as <br />brush, grass, weeds and other objectionable material including discarded asphalt <br />concrete, within the limits of Clearing and Grubbing. <br />3. All earthwork, <br />except for <br />the final layer of <br />Shoulder Backing, shall be completed prior <br />to placing the final layer <br />of Asphalt Concrete <br />surfacing. No Shoulder Backing shall be <br />deposited or <br />drifted onto <br />the final layer of <br />Asphalt Concrete surfacing. <br />4. Placement of <br />Asphalt Concrete Overlay shall <br />not begin until the Asphalt Concrete used <br />in Pavement <br />Repair has <br />been in place for <br />a minimum of 18 hours. <br />5. The Asphalt Concrete (Type A) (0.17' resurfacing) shall be placed in one (1) lift with <br />Pavement Reinforcing Fabric placed on existing or prepared surface. <br />6. Placement of all Asphalt Concrete Driveways shall not begin until the Asphalt Concrete <br />used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />7. Loam shall be used in place of Shoulder Backing at the grass frontage located at Sta <br />23+45 to Sta 24+30 (Lt). Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise noted. The <br />Contractor shall conduct the Shoulder Backing operation so as not to disturb or <br />obstruct any existing drainage. <br />9. The Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii shall receive Penetration <br />Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work shall <br />be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the <br />intersection conform at a 4' width. <br />10.
