Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay must not begin until the Hot Mix Asphalt used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hourS, 3. Placement of Hot Mix Asphalt Driveways must not begin until the Hot Mix Asphalt used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place, unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted on the final layer of Hot Mix Asphalt surfacing. where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. 8. Shoulder'Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon per square yard. Limits of Penetration Treatment work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to intersection conform. 9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re -testing will be paid by the Contractor. 10. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City of Lodi and State of California for traffic control or any work with the City's and State's jurisdiction. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items of work. 11. The Contractor must enter into an Agreement with the Central California Traction Company for any work within the Railroad's right-of-way. See SECTION 5-1.20C Railroad Relations of the Specifications for further details. 12. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance.
