All existing trees, shrubs, fences and other frontage improvements are to remain in place unless otherwise noted. 2. Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor shall conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 3. Removal of AC Dikes where shown on the plan shall be done in such a manner as not to damage the existing AC surface below the dike. 4. Placement of AC overlay shall not begin until the Asphalt Concrete used in pavement repair has been in place for 18 hours. 5. Asphalt Concrete Overlay shall be placed in one (1) layer placed over Leveling Course with Pavement Reinforcing Fabric placed on top of leveling course. 6. All earthwork, except for final grading of the shoulders, shall be completed prior to placing final layer of Asphalt Concrete. No Shoulder Backing shall be deposited or drifted on the final lift of asphalt concrete surfacing. Where the Shoulder Backing placement exceeds 0.30' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing shall be placed in two fully compacted layers. 7. Shoulder backing material at all intersection radii shall receive penetration treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work shall be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. 8. 4' Wide Longitudinal Planing to a depth of 0.10' at edge of pavement from Station 87+50 to Sta 88+50 (Left) and from Station 123+50 to Sta 124+50 (Right) to eliminate excessive wheel rutting along the pavement. 9. 4' Wide Longitudinal Planing to a depth of 0.10' at middle of travel lane from Station 117+50 to Sto 118+50 (Right) to eliminate quarter crown of the roadway.
