Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. 3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 7. Hand grinding of Roadway Surfacing pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. 8, All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted onto the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. 9. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24-hour prior notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re -testing will be paid by the Contractor. 11. Rumble Strips must not be installed until after the placement of the 0.25' HMA Overlay. 12. Do not construct rumble strips across driveway entrances. 13. At intersections, terminate/commence rumble strips in accordance with Caltrans Standard Plans Sheet A40E. 14. Traffic Control for River Road Safety Improvements shall be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for 6" Rumble Strip (Asphalt Concrete Pavement).
