Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been <br />in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been <br />completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in <br />place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must <br />conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. Hand grinding of Roadway Surfacing pavement will be required at locations where existing <br />highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. <br />Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for <br />Cold Plane Pavement. <br />8, All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final <br />layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted onto the <br />final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the <br />Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />9. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 <br />gallon/square yard. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all <br />facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24-hour prior notice to the County. <br />All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re -testing will be paid by the <br />Contractor. <br />11. Rumble Strips must not be installed until after the placement of the 0.25' HMA Overlay. <br />12. Do not construct rumble strips across driveway entrances. <br />13. At intersections, terminate/commence rumble strips in accordance with Caltrans Standard <br />Plans Sheet A40E. <br />14.
