One week prior to the start of work, the Contractor must furnish to the Engineer a schedule <br />showing proposed street closures on each half—day basis. No work will commence until this <br />schedule is approved by the Engineer. <br />2. All intersection radii within project limits must be sealed to lip of existing curb and gutter or <br />edge of pavement. <br />3. Surface preparation work must be as directed by the Engineer. Locations and dimensions of <br />Pavement Repair will be determined by the Engineer. Slurry Seal must not begin until the HMA <br />used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />4. The aggregate for Slurry Seal must be Type II. <br />5. The Contractor must perform street sweeping throughout the duration of the Slurry Seal operations <br />of the project per the specifications. Full compensation for sweeping operations must be considered <br />as included in the contract unit price paid for Slurry Seal (Type II) item of work and no separate <br />payment will be made therefor. <br />6. The Contractor must perform slurry seal operations on streets where schools are situated on the <br />weekend or when school is not in session unless allowed by written approval from the Engineer. <br />7. The Contractor must stop slurry seal operations at 1:00 pm unless prior approval from <br />the Engineer is obtained. <br />.-0' 8. Areas in County right—of—way used by Contractor for staging and/or storage of materials will be <br />approved by the Engineer. The areas utilized by the Contractor for staging and/or storage area <br />must be restored to their original condition. Any damages or unclean conditions to staging and/or <br />storage areas must be repaired at the Contractor's own expense. It will be the Contractor's <br />responsibility to obtain permission from the property owner to stage equipment or store materials <br />on private property. Placement of No Parking signs/barricades must be placed no less than 72 hours prior to <br />slurry seal work and the final sweeping. <br />10. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />11. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place <br />unless otherwise noted. <br />12. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must <br />conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />13. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities <br />constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All testing must <br />conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />14. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City of Stockton, CalTrans and <br />CCTC for traffic control or any work within their respective jurisdictions. Payment for this will <br />be considered to be included in the various items of work. <br />15. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete pavement will be required at locations where existing highway <br />and utility facilities are within the Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be <br />considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Pavement Repair. <br />16. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control <br />points, reference points and all survey stakes and must bear all expenses for the replacement <br />and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />17.
