GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. One week prior to the start of work, the Contractor must furnish to the Engineer a <br />schedule showing proposed street closures on each half—day basis. No work will <br />commence until this schedule is approved by the Engineer. <br />2. All intersection radii within project limits must be slurry sealed to lip of existing curb and 15 <br />gutter, face of dike or edge of pavement. <br />3. Surface preparation work must be as directed by the Engineer. Locations and dimensions <br />of Pavement Repair will be determined by the Engineer. <br />4. Slurry Seal must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair and Place HMA (Misc <br />Areas) has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. Place HMA (Misc Areas) includes <br />skin patches and speed humps. <br />5. The aggregate for Slurry Seal must be Type II. <br />6. The Contractor must perform street sweeping throughout the duration of the Slurry Seal <br />operations of the project per the specifications. Full compensation for sweeping <br />operations must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Slurry Seal <br />(Type II) item of work and no separate payment will be made therefor. <br />7. The Contractor must perform Slurry Seal operations on streets where schools are situated <br />on the weekend or when school is not in session unless allowed by written approval from <br />the Engineer. <br />8. The Contractor must not begin Slurry Sealing a street after 1:00 pm without the approval <br />from the Engineer. <br />9. Areas in County right—of—way used by Contractor for staging and/or storage of materials <br />will be approved by the Engineer. The areas utilized by the Contractor for staging <br />and/or storage area must be restored to their original condition. Any damages or <br />unclean conditions to staging or storage areas must be repaired at the Contractor's own <br />expense. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to obtain permission from the property <br />owner to stage equipment or store materials on private property. The Contractor must <br />provide a letter of release from the property owner of the areas utilized for staging <br />and/or storage of materials. <br />10. Placement of "No Parking" signs/barricades must be placed no less than 72 hours prior <br />N to Slurry Seal work and the final Sweeping. <br />11. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />D 12. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain <br />in place unless otherwise noted. <br />F 13. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor <br />Z must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />0 <br />14. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all <br />facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. <br />All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by <br />the Contractor. <br />The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from Caltrans and the cities of <br />Stockton and Lodi for traffic control or any work within Caltrans, Stockton or Lodi's <br />jurisdiction. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items of <br />work. <br />16. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for the construction and <br />completion of the project, and must perform all work in accordance with the <br />requirements and conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the project. <br />17. Hand grinding of Asphalt Concrete pavement will be required at locations where existing <br />highway and utility facilities are within the Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand <br />grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Pavement <br />Repair. <br />18.
