Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 3. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 4. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 6. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material must be deposited or drifted on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. OD 7.
