N A <br />GENERAL NOTES: <br />1 . Paloma Avenue: Plane existing roadway surfacing 0.17' and place 0.17' HMA Overlay in one (1) layer. <br />2. Portola Avenue: Plane existing roadway surfacing 0.40' at the centerline and 0.25' below the lip of gutter and place 0.25' HMA Overlay in two (2) layers of approximate equal <br />thickness. <br />3. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />4. Existing <br />trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes <br />and other frontage improvements must remain <br />in place unless <br />otherwise <br />noted. <br />5. Existing <br />drainage facilities must remain <br />in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor <br />must conduct <br />earthwork <br />operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />6. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All <br />testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />7. Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway surface. <br />8. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />9. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for the construction and completion of the project, and must perform all work in accordance with the requirements and <br />conditions of all permits and approvals applicable to the project. <br />10. All new Curb, Gutter and <br />Sidewalk must <br />conform <br />to the existing flowline elevations with a straight <br />grade between <br />conforms unless otherwise noted. <br />11. Install Expansion Joints at <br />beginning and <br />end of <br />new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk and between new <br />sidewalks and <br />existing driveways. <br />12. All part circle culverts/corrugated metal pipe pieces are to be removed and disposed. All steel plates at driveways must be removed and returned to residents. All associated asphalt <br />concrete that has been placed over curb, gutter and sidewalk and that has been shown to remain throughout the limits of work must be removed and disposed. Payment for these <br />will be considered as included in the Clearing and Grubbing item of work. <br />13. The Contractor must notify the City of Stockton at (209) 937-8110 72 hours in advance of adjusting the City of Stockton facilities to finished grade. Refer to the City of Stockton <br />Standards for adjusting facilities to grade. <br />14. Prior to commencing any work, <br />it will be the Contractor's responsibility to call 811 and have each <br />utility company locate <br />in the field their main service lines and <br />laterals. The <br />Contractor must notify members <br />of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of <br />performing excavation <br />work by calling the toll free number (1-800-227-2600). <br />15. The Contractor must field verify <br />and utility facilities, so that no <br />all existing highway and utility facilities' locations and depths.
