m r- rn I 0 11, u 1. 0.25' HMA Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness with Geosynthetic Pavement Interlayer (Paving Fabric) placed between the layers. 2. Pavement core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway. 3. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. 4. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 5. Existing highway and utility facilities must- remain in place unless otherwise noted. 6. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 7. Existing drainage facilities mu3t remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 8. Hand grinding of roadway surfacing will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. 9. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. 10. All improvements within the Minor Concrete (Curb) work limits must be saw cut or removed to the limits shown on the Plans. COUNTY OF SAN T(lA(lT TTI�T _ DRAWN BY DATE PROJECT ENGINEER 11. For all HMA (Miscellaneous Areas) at median, use 3/8—inch Type A HMA aggregate gradation and asphalt binder Grade PG -64-10. 12. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. 13. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour prior notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. 14. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 15. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1-800-642-2444) or 81 1 . 16. There will be no work performed on bridges, major structures or minor structures throughout the project limits except where PCC Curb and/or HMA Dike is designated for replacement. All bridge conforms will be up to the bridge deck only. 17. Place top soil as needed where grass or sod abuts the Edge of Pavement (EP). 18. All 6" striping per 2018 Caltrans Standard Plans must be 4" (See Sheet No. 9).
