GENERAL NOTES <br />1, Contractor shall furnish all materials and shall perform all labor in accordance with the <br />requirements of the State of California Department of Transportation Standard Specifications <br />and Standard Plans Dated May 2006, and San Joaquin County Special Provisions. <br />2. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to verify the existence and location of all COnSf <br />underground facilities, public or private, and to protect them from damage. The Contractor <br />shall bear the total expense of repair or replacement of any underground facilities damaged <br />by field operations, Quantity and exact locations of all utilities to be determined by <br />Contractor 4$ hours prior to beginning work. One week prior to the start of work, the Contractor shall submit a Traffic Control Pian for <br />approval by the Engineer. All below ground work, including <br />but not limited to: Foundations, Pull Boxes, Conduits, and Loop Detectors shall be completed <br />prior to placing Latex Modified Slurry Seal, <br />3, Remove oil existing thermoplastic traffic stripes and pavement markings within the Slurry Seal <br />limits prior to application of Latex Modified Slurry Seal. Thermoplastic traffic stripes shall be <br />removed in the following locations: <br />DETAIL 5 between Sta 385+56 to Sta 387+00 <br />DETAIL 18 between Sto 387+00 to Sta 389+60 <br />Payment for removal of existing thermoplastic traffic stripes and pavement markings shall be <br />paid by the LUMP SUM "Remove Thermoplastic Traffic Stripes and Pavement Markings" item of <br />work and no additional compensation will be made therefor. <br />4. Sheet No. 4 of the plans is accurate for electrical work only, <br />5. Traffic loop detectors shall be centered in effective Ione widths unless otherwise noted on plan <br />or directed by the Engineer. <br />6. Prior to applying Latex Modified Slurry Seal the Contractor shall reference Centerline Stationing. <br />7. The Aggregate for Latex Modified Slurry Seal shall be Type II. <br />8. Placement of Latex Modified slurry Seal shall not begin until all Asphalt Concrete used in <br />Roadway Widening has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />9. Unless otherwise noted, all new Thermoplastic Pavement Markings shall be centered within the <br />width of the traveled lane as shown on Sheet No, 5 of the plans. <br />10.
