<br />GENERAL NOTES:
<br />1. 0.25' HMA Overlay must be placed in two (2) layers of approximately equal thickness.
<br />2. Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within
<br />the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway.
<br />3. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted.
<br />4. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless
<br />otherwise rioted.
<br />5. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct
<br />earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage.
<br />6. Hand grinding of roadway surfacing will be required at locations where existing highway and utility
<br />facilities are within the Remove Subbase, Base, and Roadway Surfacing and Pavement Repair limits.
<br />Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Remove
<br />Subbase, Base, and Roadway Surfacing.
<br />7. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities
<br />constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour notice to the County. All testing must conform
<br />to the Standard Specifications. All re --testing will be paid by the Contractor.
<br />8. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected business driveways at the end of each working
<br />day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be consistent with that of the roadbed
<br />(or roadway) surface that is to be placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in
<br />the various items of work involved.
<br />9. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points,
<br />reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused
<br />by their unnecessary loss or disturbance.
<br />10. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company
<br />locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the
<br />Underground Service Agency (USA) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll
<br />free number (1 800-642 2444) or 811.
<br />11. The Contractor must field verify all existing highway and utility facilities' locations and depths. It will be
<br />the Contractor's sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing highway and utility facilities, so that
<br />no damage results to them during the performance of this contract. The Contractor will be required to
<br />cooperate with other contractors and utility companies installing new structures, utilities and services to
<br />the project. Payment for this work will be considered to be included in the various items of work
<br />involved.
<br />12. All new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk must conform to the existing flowline elevations with a straight grade
<br />between conforms unless otherwise noted.
<br />13. Install Expansion Joints at beginning and end of new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk and between new
<br />sidewalks and existing driveways.
<br />14. Quantity paid for Curb, Gutter- and/or Sidewalk in linear foot is measured along the flowline of the gutter
<br />pan.
<br />15. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the City of Stockton for placement for
<br />performing traffic, control or placing traffic control devices (or performing work) in their jurisdiction(s)-
<br />Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items of work involved.
