M <br />9. <br />GENERAL NQTUS <br />0.25' HMA Overlay must be planed in two (2) layers of approximately equal <br />thickness. <br />Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair <br />has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving <br />has been completed, <br />Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway <br />surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway. <br />Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must <br />remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, <br />control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses <br />for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted, The <br />Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br />existing drainage. <br />Hand grinding of Roadway Surfacing pavement will be required at locations where <br />existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and <br />Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in <br />the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. <br />2 F--4'-1 -- <br />�--TE <br />Conform <br />§ Variable Depth <br />Shoulder Backing <br />(TYP) <br />§=Reduce width where obstructions <br />occur. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing <br />the final layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or <br />drifted on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds <br />0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully <br />compacted layers. <br />11. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment <br />at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be <br />confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the <br />intersection conform. <br />12. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of <br />all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour prior notice to <br />the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing <br />will be paid by the Contractor. <br />13. Removal and disposal of existing monument frames and covers will be required at <br />locations as stated on the Summary of Quantities sheet for Place Monument Frame <br />and Cover.
