Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair <br />has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving <br />has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must <br />remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The <br />Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br />existing drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the <br />final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material must be deposited or drifted <br />on the final layer of HMA surfacing. Dimensions and <br />locations are subject to change at the Engineer's discretion. <br />8. Shoulder Backing material at all intersections radii must receive Penetration Treatment <br />at 0.25 GAL/SQYD. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to <br />intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of <br />all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the <br />County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re --testing will <br />be paid by the Contractor. <br />10. Hand grinding of AC pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and <br />utility facilities are within the Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding must be <br />considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement item <br />of work. <br />11. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, <br />control points, reference points and all survey stakes and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />12. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from CalTrans for traffic control or <br />any work within their respective jurisdictions. The Contractor shall coordinate inspection of <br />the traffic loop installation with CalTrans.
