Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has <br />been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has <br />been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in <br />place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor <br />must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. Hand grinding of roadway surfacing will be required at locations where existing highway and <br />utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment <br />for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold <br />Plane Pavement. <br />8. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the <br />final layer of HMA pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted on <br />the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, <br />the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />9. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at <br />0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to <br />intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />10. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all <br />facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour prior notice to the <br />County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, <br />control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />12. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the end of <br />each working day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be <br />consistent with that of the roadbed (or roadway) surface that is to be placed upon. <br />Payment for this work will be considered as included in the various items of work. <br />13. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractors responsibility to have each utility <br />company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals.
