Earthwork (Shoulder Backing and Embankment) — Attention <br />directed to Section 19-6.01, "Placing" of the Standard <br />Specifications. The minimum required width of horizontal cutting <br />(benching) into the existing embankment or original hillside <br />when constructing new embankments shall be reduced to 2 feet. <br />Benching will not be required where slopes are 4 to 1 or flatter. <br />5. All earthwork (except for final grading of the shoulders) shall <br />be completed prior to placing of final layer of asphalt concrete. <br />6. Material used in the shoulder area shall be Imported Borrow or <br />Top Soil at the following locations (Shoulder Detail 1): <br />Sta. 47+00 to Sta. 84+04 (Rt.) <br />Sta. 47+60 to Sta. 83+00 (Lt.) <br />7.
