Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a <br />minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless <br />otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct <br />earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. Hand grinding of roadway surfacing will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities <br />are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be <br />considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. <br />8. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA <br />pavement. No Shoulder Backing material will be deposited or drifted onto the final layer of HMA surfacing. <br />Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) <br />or more fully compacted layers. <br />9. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square <br />yard. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed <br />under this contract with a minimum 24—hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard <br />Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />11. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected resident's driveways at the end of each working day <br />if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be consistent with that of the roadbed (or <br />roadway) surface that is to be placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in the <br />various items of work involved. <br />12. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the State Department of Transportation for <br />placement for performing traffic control or placing traffic control devices in their jurisdiction. Payment for <br />this will be considered to be included in the various items of work involved. <br />13. The Contractor must obtain all permits and licenses required for the construction and completion of the <br />project, and must perform all work in accordance with the requirements and conditions of all permits and <br />approvals applicable to the project. <br />14. The Contractor must exercise due to caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, <br />reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by <br />their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />15. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company locate <br />in the field their main service lines and laterals.
