GENERAL NOTES <br />1. Prior to commencing any work, it shall be the Contractor's responsibility to have each 6 <br />utility company locate in the field their main and service lines. The Contractor shall <br />notify the members of the Underground Service Alert (USA) 48 hours in advance of <br />performing excavation work and/or sign relocation work by calling the toll—free number <br />1-800-227-2600 or 811. <br />2. The area above the <br />natural ground surface <br />shall be <br />cleared of all vegetation such as <br />brush, grass, weeds <br />and other objectionable <br />material <br />including discarded asphalt <br />concrete, within the <br />Limits of Clearing and <br />Grubbing. <br />3. All earthwork, except for the final layer of Shoulder Backing, shall be completed prior <br />to placing the final layer of Asphalt Concrete surfacing. No Shoulder Backing shall be <br />deposited or drifted onto the final layer of Asphalt Concrete surfacing. <br />4. Placement of Asphalt Concrete Overlay shall not begin until the Asphalt Concrete used <br />in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />5. SHOULDER DETAIL <br />R/W <br />�,`r <br />V'^ <br />The 0.25' Asphalt Concrete resurfacing (Type A) shall be placed in two (2) layers of <br />approximately equal thickness with Pavement Reinforcing Fabric placed t e wo <br />(2) layers. For drop-offs between the existing pavement and the planed area at <br />transverse joints, construct a temporary HMA taper prior to opening to traffic. HMA for <br />temporary tapers shall be placed to the level of the existing pavement and tapered on <br />a slope of 1:30 (Vertical: Horizontal) or flatter to the level of the planed area. <br />7. Placement of all Asphalt Concrete Driveways shall not begin until the Asphalt Concrete <br />used for Mainline Paving has been completed. See sheet 6 for locations. <br />8. Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise noted. The <br />Contractor shall conduct the Shoulder Backing operation so as not to disturb or <br />obstruct any existing drainage. <br />9. Safety Edge is to be installed per Standard Plan NSP P74. <br />10.
