L%�® <br />IZ <br />0 <br />GENERAL NOTES: <br />1. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />2. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain <br />in place unless otherwise noted. <br />3. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor <br />must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing <br />drainage. <br />4. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all <br />facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. <br />All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by <br />the Contractor. <br />5. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, <br />control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />6. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each <br />utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor <br />must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of <br />performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1-800-227-2600). <br />7. The Contractor must <br />field verify all <br />existing highway and utility facilities' locations and <br />depths. It will be the <br />Contractor's sole responsibility to locate and protect <br />all existing <br />highway and utility facilities, <br />so that <br />no damage results to them during the performance <br />of this contract. The <br />Contractor shall <br />be required to cooperate with other <br />contractors <br />and utility companies <br />installing new <br />structures, utilities and services to the <br />project. <br />Payment for this will <br />be considered <br />to be included in the various items to <br />work. <br />8. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the end <br />of each working day if a drop—off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be <br />consistent with that of the roadbed (or roadway) surface that it is to be placed upon. <br />Payment for this work shall be considered as included in the various items of work. <br />9. <br />Expansion joints and weakened plane <br />joints must be placed as <br />indicated in SJ Co Std <br />Adjust Frame and Cover (Storm Drain Maintenance Hole) <br />Drawing R-11. Expansion joint spacing must <br />not exceed 80'. <br />Rf <br />10. <br />All Curb Transitions must be 5' with <br />expansion joints at each end. <br />Existing <br />11. <br />All Gutter width Transitions must be <br />5' with <br />expansion joints at <br />each end. <br />12. <br />Curb, gutter and sidewalk must have <br />a light <br />broom finish.
