L%�® IZ 0 GENERAL NOTES: 1. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 2. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 3. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 4. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. 5. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 6. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1-800-227-2600). 7. The Contractor must field verify all existing highway and utility facilities' locations and depths. It will be the Contractor's sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing highway and utility facilities, so that no damage results to them during the performance of this contract. The Contractor shall be required to cooperate with other contractors and utility companies installing new structures, utilities and services to the project. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items to work. 8. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the end of each working day if a drop—off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be consistent with that of the roadbed (or roadway) surface that it is to be placed upon. Payment for this work shall be considered as included in the various items of work. 9. Expansion joints and weakened plane joints must be placed as indicated in SJ Co Std Adjust Frame and Cover (Storm Drain Maintenance Hole) Drawing R-11. Expansion joint spacing must not exceed 80'. Rf 10. All Curb Transitions must be 5' with expansion joints at each end. Existing 11. All Gutter width Transitions must be 5' with expansion joints at each end. 12. Curb, gutter and sidewalk must have a light broom finish. Curb and gutter; parallel to Driveways and Walkways to be reconstructed the flow line, Sidewalks; perpendicular to the flowline.
