Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway surface. 3. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. 4. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 5. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 6. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, maintenance holes, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 7. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 8. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material must be deposited or drifted onto the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers 9. The road will be closed to through traffic; however, access to local residents will be maintained at all times. Detour signs will be placed by County forces and maintained by Contractor until the project is completed. 10. Shoulder Backing material at all intersections radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 GAL/SQYD. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. 12. Hand grinding of AC pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. 13. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 14. The Contractor must exercise extreme caution when performing work near the PG&E high pressure transmission gas line running parallel to the roadway along the eastbound lane. Refer to the Plan pages 3 and 4 for location. The Contractor must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing any excavation work by calling the toll free number (1-800-642-2444) or 811. 15. SB 1 Funding Signs installed by the County (see Appendix) to be maintained and relocated as necessary by the Contractor. 16. Placement of Class 2 AB will be considered as included in the contract price paid for Shoulder Backing and no additional payment will be made therefor. 17.
