Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway <br />surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway surface. <br />3. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair <br />has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />4. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving <br />has been completed. <br />5. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, maintenance holes, mailboxes and other frontage <br />improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />7. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The <br />Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br />existing drainage. <br />8. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior to placing the <br />final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material must be deposited or drifted <br />onto the final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in <br />thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers <br />9. The road will be closed to through traffic; however, access to local residents will be <br />maintained at all times. Detour signs will be placed by County forces and maintained by <br />Contractor until the project is completed. <br />10. Shoulder Backing material at all intersections radii must receive Penetration Treatment <br />at 0.25 GAL/SQYD. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of <br />all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour notice to the <br />County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will <br />be paid by the Contractor. <br />12. Hand grinding of AC pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and <br />utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment <br />for hand grinding must be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for <br />Cold Plane Pavement. <br />13. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, <br />control points, reference points and all survey stakes and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />14. The Contractor must exercise extreme caution when performing work near the PG&E high <br />pressure transmission gas line running parallel to the roadway along the eastbound lane. <br />Refer to the Plan pages 3 and 4 for location. The Contractor must notify members of <br />the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing any excavation <br />work by calling the toll free number (1-800-642-2444) or 811. <br />15. SB 1 Funding Signs installed by the County (see Appendix) to be maintained and <br />relocated as necessary by the Contractor. <br />16. Placement of Class 2 AB will be considered as included in the contract price paid for <br />Shoulder Backing and no additional payment will be made therefor. <br />17. The road will be closed to through public traffic; however, access to local residents will <br />be maintained at all times. Detour signs will be placed by County forces and maintained <br />by the Contractor until the project is completed. <br />18.
