<br />1. ALL NEW IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE

<br />PRIOR TO OPENING AN EXCAVATION, EFFORT SHALL BE MADE TO DETERMINE
<br />WHETHER UNDERGROUND INSTALLATION: I.E., SEWER, WATER, FUEL, ELECTRIC
<br />LINES, ETC., WILL BE ENCOUNTERED AND, IF SO, WHERE SUCH UNDERGROUND
<br />INSTALLATIONS ARE LOCATED. WHEN THE EXCAVATION APPROACHES THE
<br />APPROXIMATE LOCATION OF SUCH AN INSTALLATION, THE EXACT LOCATION
<br />SHALL BE DETERMINED BY CAREFUL PROBING OR AND DIGGING; AND WHEN IT
<br />IS UNCOVERED, ADEQUATE PROTECTION SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR THE EXISTING
<br />INSTALLATION. ALL KNOWN OWNERS OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES IN THE
<br />AREA CONCERNED SHALL BE ADVISED OF PROPOSED WORK AT LEAST 48 HOURS
<br />PRIOR TO THE START OF ACTUAL EXCAVATION.
<br />6. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SHORING, BRACING, SLOPING OR PROVISIONS
<br />TO PROTECT WORKMEN FOR ALL AREAS TO BE EXCAVATED TO A DEPTH OF FIVE
<br />FEET OR MORE. SAID PROTECTION TO BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
<br />REQUIREMENTS OF LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS (CAL -OSHA, OSHA).
<br />7. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION OF THE REMOVAL
<br />AND/OR RELOCATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES WITH RESPECTIVE UTILITY
<br />COMPANIES.
<br />8. ASBESTOS CEMENT MATERIALS SHALL NOT BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF
<br />ANY FACILITIES WITHIN THIS PROJECT.
<br />9. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MATCHING EXISTING SURROUNDING
<br />LANDSCAPE AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS WITH A TRANSITION IN PAVING, CURBS,
<br />GUTTERS. SIDEWALKS, GRADES, ETC., AND TO AVOID ANY ABRUPT OR APPARENT
<br />CHANGES IN CROSS SLOPES, LOW SPOTS OR HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.
<br />10. ENGINEER ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINAL GRADE OF CONCRETE
<br />UNLESS FORMS ARE CHECKED BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO ANY CONCRETE PLACEMENT.
<br />11. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FIELD CHANGES MADE
<br />WITHOUT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM ENGINEER.
<br />12. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL LIGHTS, SIGNS, BARRICADES, FLAGMEN, OR
<br />OTHER DEVICES NECESSARY TO PROVIDE FOR PUBLIC SAFETY IN ACCORDANCE WITH
<br />THE CITY OF STOCKTON. CALTRANS, AND CAL -OSHA SPECIFICATIONS.
<br />13. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE SITE AND
<br />SURROUNDING AREAS RESULTING FROM OPERATIONS PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE OF
<br />CONTRACTOR'S WORK.
<br />14. DURING CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF
<br />EXISTING FACILITIES. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO REPAIR, TO THE
<br />SATISFACTION OF THE COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN. ANY FACILITIES DAMAGED
<br />DURING CONSTRUCTION AT NO COST TO THE COUNTY.
<br />15. WHERE EXISTING FENCES ARE TO BE REMOVED FOR CONSTRUCTION
<br />PURPOSES, CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE AND REPLACE THE FENCING IN KIND.
<br />WHERE THE EXISTING FENCE IS USED FOR PROPERTY SECURITY AND/OR
<br />CONTAINMENT, CONTRACTOR SHALL ERECT TEMPORARY FENCING DURING
